John Kenneth Galbraith 1908-2006
A Canadian by birth, Galbraith taught at Harvard for many years and wrote nearly fifty books on economics and social justice. He was a proponent of the interventionist monetary policies of John Maynard Keynes, and he influenced the economic approach of presidents from Truman to Obama. He was US ambassador to India and received the Medal of Freedom twice.
