Gloucester – Happiness is … putting the right show and the right cast together on the right stage.
There is a marvelous production of the Broadway hit musical “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” playing through June 21 at the Gloucester Stage Company. Kicking off its 30th anniversary season with this little gem of a show, the theater has picked a winner to celebrate Gloucester’s Pathways for Children, the leading provider of programs for children on Cape Ann. Local benefactors have subsidized free tickets for many area children through Pathways and other organizations.
The show has been well cast with polished professional singer/actors, and director Scott LeFeber uses the intimate stage nicely for this family show. The little theater seats the audience on three sides of the projecting stage, so every seat in the house is close to the action. To read more, click here to take you to the Beacon article.

Thanks Paul Movali for pointing this one out
This is one of many blocks aboard the Plan B, a former tuna seiner that is being converted to a herring seiner by the folks at Cape Seafood on the State Fish Pier. The reason they are converting the Plan B is because the boat had seine history for herring. During summer area closures which restrict the Cape Seafoods Mid-Water Trawling herring boats from fishing for herring, seine boats are allowed to fish for them. So now they will still be able to catch and provide fresh lobster bait rather than rely on costly frozen lobster bait for their customers.

Forgive the dark video but until I get a better video camera, it doesn’t do too well in low light situations

Hi Joey

Every time I go into Alexandra’s bread I’m astounded by all the cool stuff in there. It’s not just bread either. I hesitate to say that Alexandra’s talents are almost wasted in this space because I’d hate to see her go, but really she ought to be a buyer for a huge store. She has assembled the coolest collections of things like Arley Pett’s 1899 Gloucester Map Coasters.

Kudos To Arley

Good Luck Rudy!

The large meatball sub at Supreme had a nice toasted sub roll. Not a ton of meat but it was tasty and not all that expensive. Other places that serve $6.00 lg meatball subs are not overcharging in comparison because you probably get double the meat at the other places but if you are not looking for a huge sub this sub tasted great and is a good option.
