Greetings From Naples Suckas!
Adventures in babysitting Day 2
The girls and I have been tearing up Naples! Yesterday Naples Zoo and then Cambier Park to shred the killer playground. Today a nice walk in the sun and some shopping at Waterside Shops where we tossed a couple rolls of pennies to the fountains and made some wishes.
One of Snoop Mad’s wishes was to be a BEEEEUUUTIFUL Fairy Princess. The Bean wished for the palm trees to grow big and tall and also for them to stop moving.

Mindball -Family Day At The Children’s Museum Of New Hampshire
Playing mindball at The New Hampshire Children’s Museum. The object is to relax your mind and produce fewer brainwaves. The sensors which you velcro around your noggin measure how relaxed you are and you can view them on the monitors above. When you have less brain activity than your opponent the ball on the table moves toward your opponent’s circle.
It’s a game of mind tug of war but instead of stregnth as a barometer for winning- it’s relaxation! That’s my kind of game, lol.

Gloucester Day With the Bean – Pottery Making At Art Haven
After chatting with Bobby Ryan and Manuel Simoes at Ryan and Wood Distillery we headed back to Beautiful Downtown Gloucester for an art class. Art Haven is an awesome place to learn and create and the staff is gifted with patience and ease with kids. You can tell that David Brooks, Dawn Gadow and all the people working there truly love being with the children and what they are doing. It obviously isn’t just a job for them but a calling.
All the kids were having a blast and it’s unbelievable how some of these very young children have developed their artistic abilities in the Art Haven program.
We didn’t have an appointment, we just popped in and The Bean started right in making about four different things. A clay mirror frame, a couple rocks with her initials on them and a clay model of our cat Mr JJ Jinglenuts.

Gloucester Day With The Bean- Ryan and Wood Distillery
Although I knew I wouldn’t be able to cover the Ryan and Wood official launch of Folly Cove Rum I wanted to pop in and see how GMG photographer and videographers Thom Falzorano and Manuel Simoes were doing with the coverage.
We managed to squeeze in a short interview with Bobby Ryan while the Bean made fart noises on my neck. Adds to the character of the interview I say!

Gloucester Day With the Bean-Lobster Platter Find At Main Street Art and Antiques
From The Dress Code we bounced down to David Cox’ Main Street Art and Antiques for my daily dose of David Cox’ hilarity and crazy stories. We talked about the blog and his assignments while The Bean commented on David’s filing system or lack thereof.
This vintage lobster platter can be had for a mere $28.

Gloucester Day With the Bean- Taking Silly Pictures At Barbara Koen’s Dress Code
After finishing up our coffee and hot chocolate and cleaning up a nasty hot chocolate incident at The Lone Gull we headed up to Barbara Koen’s Dress Code.
I dig popping in there if for nothing else but to catch some of that good karma from Barbara and the girls who work there. Always a fun experience and you never know if you’ll find a hidden gem.
Right now there are a bunch of brand new TUMI bags selling for 1/5 or so of their original prices. If you are a traveller you will recognize TUMI as the top brand in luggage. These bags were smaller messenger style and laptop bags but all brand new and pretty bad-ass. I’ve been having an internal debate about buying one for several months now.
Here’s the Bean and I taking a silly picture in the overhead curvy mirror-

Gloucester Day With the Bean- Cookie And Hot Chocolate At The Lone Gull
Tuesday was a Gloucester Day with the Bean. After picking her up at shool we headed down to The Lone Gull for a m&m cookie and hot chocolate.
Both of the girls love going to the Lone Gull and while it’s obviously a coffee shop they both call it “The Cookie Store”.

The Bean Kneads The Dough
At American Flatbread Company they give the kids dough to play with while you wait for your pizza. A good idea that I’d never heard of before.

The Bean Takes A Pleasant Street Picture
While spending an awesome day at the Middle Street Walk events I had a great time chilling with my oldest -The Bean. We stopped off to warm up and enjoy a nice hot cup of Pleasant St Tea and Coffee Co hot chocolate (really delicious)
So I gave her the camera and she snapped this pic from our corner chair.

I love the detailed architecture on this building. Does anyone build new buildings like this any more?
Buoy Painting At Art Haven pics By Thom Falzorano
I can’t even believe how many events went down yesterday. How much fun and community involvement and volunteerism went into making it such an incredible day for Gloucester folks to enjoy.
There is so much to cover between the start of the day at City Hall with the Docksiders, Gingerbread House Competition, and hanging out with the Disney Characters.
Then off to Art Haven for Buoy Painting and Ice Sculpting.
Then to watch the star and buoys get placed upon the lobster trap tree.
Quick lunch at Espresso ($7.95 Chicken Marsala rocked).
Hop over to the Cape Ann Museum for a children’s Christmas caroling concert with FOB Mikayla Ciolino.
Then back to City Hall for Christmas play.
To Pleasant St Tea and Coffee Co for killer hot chocolate and a fatastic artisan show.
A quick stroll down Main St to catch up with Janice Lufkin Shea and then back to the homestead.
If you don’t see your pic today it’s only because there is so much content we will be releasing it over the next few days. Everything is getting posted though- fear not.
