This is how we kick off the holidays in Fishtown.  It starts at 8:30, but you’d better get there earlier than that if you wanna sit… and if you wanna get some prime rib before it’s gone!  ~ Fly

Tragedy of Julius Caesar – don’t miss it!

Turn off the TV, save money by not going to the movies… and go see LIVE theater right here on Cape Ann!  The talented director, cast and crew of the Cape Ann Shakespeare Company are offering a great production of Shakespeare’s “Tragedy of Julius Caesar”. I was at the dress rehearsal on Tuesday, and really enjoyed it.  They act it out with intensity and emotion that totally blows away the barrier of Elizabethan English.  This would be a great opportunity to help high schoolers see a text they probably have to read for English class, jump off the page and come to life!

Performances February 27 (opening special: all seats $5) through March 2 are at 8 PM; Sunday, March 3 at 3 PM at the Gorton Theatre (home of the Gloucester Stage Company) 267 East Main Street. Tickets, $15, general; $10, student; $5, youth under 19, are available at the door or may be reserved at cast2008@prodigy.net . Very proud of the hard work the girls and Brother in Law Barry and Beasly put in to making the GMG tent kick–ass.
We will be posting updated pictures all day long from the Gloucester Waterfront Festival.

If you wander down there snap a picture or two. if you are a vendor down there send in your photo in front of your booth and we will post it.  Send in your iphone/android phone pics from the waterfront festival to goodmorninggloucester@yahoo.com

If you don’t have a camera or the ability to take a picture head to our GMG booth(Booth 88) and Amanda will take your picture and send it in.

Free parking along Stacy Boulevard or at the High School.
However, please note that there is small fee to park across the street at Beach Parking.

Good Harbor Beach Blue Shutters BeachCam Now Live!

We thought Good Morning Gloucester crowd would be interested in the new Blue Shutters BeachCam, which this weekend began broadcasting live video of Good Harbor Beach and of guests of the Blue Shutters strolling across the way to the footbridge. The camera is right in the Main Room of the Blue Shutters, by the big windows overlooking the beach. While you can’t make out every bathing suit and boogie board, you’ll be able to tell if it’s a good day for sunbathing, beachwalking or surfing…or just watching the weather and the waves. We’ll soon have this as a direct link on our website, but for now folks can visit our site’s “What’s New” blog to access the BeachCam. http://www.blueshuttersbeachblog.blogspot.com/

FYI – we have GMG to thank for this…you featured the Fiesta webcam back in June and that got us thinking that a Good Harbor BeachCam would be a good addition.  We hope others agree – check it out and let us know what you think.
