Clouds and sunshine during sunset on Wednesday

Went down to Magnolia Pier to catch the sunset on Wednesday evening but the clouds rolled and it made the light beautiful.

UNDULATUS ASPERATUS CLOUD FORMATIONS OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZED

Last September we wrote about the rare undulatus asperatus clouds over Gloucester Harbor. According to WBZ-TV chief meterologist Eric Fisher, they were recognized by the Wold Meteorological Organization in March as an official cloud formation. The clouds could be seen over Boston the past few days. You can see a photos of the wavy formations here:  Good Morning Gloucester Undulatus Asperitus.

Natural page turner: quite a 10 minute story of vast sea and sky

Beautiful radical variations till the clouds rolled by (roughly 6:05-6:18 AM) before I met with clients in Boston and Beverly. There were some snowflakes but when I returned to Gloucester at 1pm, the roads were dry and an even pale sky.

Facebook Friends have been posting from several different times of the day and these photos were taken around 7am. I am so curious and tried looking it up although it was all a bit confusing. Its fun to say undulatus asperatus, but that’s only a guess. Essex – A Front Rolls Through

About 3:45 on Friday, a front rolled through the area providing menacing clouds, incredible spots of sunlight and snow showers in the sky that melted before they hit the ground. Just incredible! Glad to live on Cape Ann and be able to see capture a few scenes like these.  Click the images for larger view

Sun Sets in Peabody (not “on”)

Not to panic, I was a passenger on this journey down Route 128 / I-95 . Traveling on the way to Reading for the Manchester Essex field hockey game and I got to watch a changing sky almost all the way.
