Just My Rant. Have you heard the word Today.
This post was not made to make fun of anyone’s religious beliefs. I believe more like the Native Americans do that nature controls the Universe and our lives. I recently had a very nice older couple come to our door trying to save my soul. They were very polite. When they started to inform me how a certain prophet could make my life better I began to inform them that I appreciated their trying to help people by spreading their beliefs but I don’t believe in what the were selling. Like I said I respect everyone’s beliefs and do not try to push mine on anyone else. They continued to try to have me come over to their side. After a few minutes of this I decided to inform them how in the past two years what our family has been through. I told them how my Son Paul was killed and how he died and less than 3 months later my Father died. They looked kind shocked. After a few minutes of a rant I apologized for dropping all that on them and that I respected their views but it wasn’t for me. They politely said goodbye, turned around and got out as soon as they could.
I found these religious comics that people post on Facebook. So Blame them not me.

Two members of the Cape Ann Community will be discussing their experiences as visitors to Haiti and the Dominican Republic on Sunday, November 3 from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Rockport, 4 Cleaves Street, Rockport. Rockporter Mary Ann Camp, RN, has been a frequent volunteer at the Partners in Development Medical
Center in Blanchard, Haiti, since the devastating earthquake on January 12, 2012. She will speak about the current situation and needs, including the urgent need for children’s sponsors, as well as the progress that has been made since the earthquake.
Heidi Wakeman of Gloucester, a Spanish teacher in the Rockport schools, will offer information on her trip to the Dominican Republic as an educational envoy with Friends Beyond Borders. Light refreshments will be served following the talks. All are welcome.
he Student Assistance Program Team
The Student Assistance Program Team represented Lahey Health Behavioral Services and community partners such as the North Shore United Way at Rockport’s Harvest Fest, Saturday October 19th. Pictured here is Kelsey Tam, SAP Counselor at Ipswich High School and Wendi Smith, SAP Counselor at Gloucester’s O’Maley Innovation Middle School. SAP hosted a raffle and offered three different gift baskets themed School, Yoga and Art. All were geared towards middle and high school aged youth and featured donations from Dragon Speech Recognition Software and the Tree Top Yoga and Art Haven Studios in Gloucester. The event helped to raise awareness of the Student Assistance Programs in the North Shore area, key partners, and its focus on youth mental health and well-being.

The Stevedore
Hello, Joey:
I hope you’ll share this YouTube link to my new original song, “The Stevedore.” It’s a sea chantey with a twist of contemporary realism: rather than the typical sea song that features drunken sailors, this one is about a stevedore (or lumper or longshoreman) who develops an addiction to painkillers. It’s a tribute to the very tough people who have made a living unloading the cargo from fishing boats and, I hope, a way of honoring Gloucester’s recovery community. I hope the song touches a chord with your readers.
The song is performed by The Dorymates (Janet Ruth Young and Tony Hilliard) with our friend Tim Perkins. It was recorded by H. Nat Stevens.
Best wishes,
Janet Ruth Young
