This morning the dedication of the new butterfly garden at Pathway’s for Children was celebrated with speeches of thanks, and a song and poem performed by the Pathways children. The sun was shining, the bees and butterflies were on the wing, and there were lots of smiles of joy on the faces of the children and attendees. My most heartfelt thanks and deepest appreciation to all who have given so much to make the garden a success!
Just some of the wonderful people who made the garden possible: Andrew, Bernie Romanowski, Beth Graham, and Peter Van Demark

Yesterday Husband Barry and I enjoyed the late afternoon hours walking around Boston’s North End. The streets of the North End were filled with familiar sounds and smells of all things that make up an Italian Fiesta; Food, Family, Friends, and Fun! This past weekend the celebration of “The Feast Of The Fisherman” hosted by the Modonna Del Soccorso Society drew large crowds from near and far. Back in late June, JeanneMarie Linquata, of Gloucester shared the Linquata Family’s lifetime connection with the Modonna Del Soccorso Society in Boston North End during The “Linquata Family Fiesta Tradition Interview”. JeannMarie Linquata explained how she lovingly continues to keep “Aunt Josie Deliberti’s” tradition of hand making the annual Fiesta Committee members signature ribbon adorned St. Peter and Modonna Del Soccorso Pins for the feast of St.Peter hosted by The St.Peter’s Fiesta Committee in late June here in Gloucester and The Feast Of The Fisherman Hosted by The Modonna Del Soccorso Society in Boston MA. Yesterday I spotted JeanMarie’s beautiful pins on dozens of shirts in the crowded streets of the feast.

Hi Joey,
I am harvesting pears from the family homestead tree. I would like to give you a bag for your sister to come up with a baked pear or something pear recipe. Are you at Capt Joe’s wharf tomorrow morning?
Anthony L. Burnham
Anthony, I was so touched by your kindness. Thank you for thinking of me! I’m super excited to be in the kitchen today creating delicious treats using the pears…Stay tuned some Yumminess is in the making !

Yes, there were massive crowds on the street, but the the 150+ people I appreciated most were the folks who came in to encourage me with my battle with cancer and the attack by a gangrenous appendix. Tugboat Captain Doug walked right up to me behind the desk to give me a big bear hug. I thought I was going to get mugged, as he was clean shaven and unrecognized at first. City Councilor Sepatia thrust my rollator/walker aside to give another hug and kind words. Reiki Master Karen Pischke made a promise to bring the resources of her Dreamtime Wellness treatment to me at home. Shelley (with PT/OT calzones) from Den-Mar Rehab, one of my prime physical therapists, came by with half a dozen of her best friends,. Then three nurses from Mass General charged in and offered their support too.
I’d like to thank Valerie Marcley, long time organizer in charge of the Block Parties, for her hard work on the event, her sensitivity, and for being a good friend. She was there cleaning up long after I had gone home. Lastly, I want to mention my “Gyotaku” fish print artist Patrick Horgan, who just happened in from Seabrook, N.H. I convinced him to set up his display outside the gallery. It’s always a pleasure to work with Pat, and he escorted and drove me safely thru the darkness to the refuge of my home in Rockport. Cape Ann is a very special community that cares. They’ll always have your back.
