Coastal Dog Swim Trunks Are The Only Swim Trunks Any Man Should Wear
The first time I wore these swim trunks were for the polar plunge. They dry so quickly and are so comfortable, I can’t say enough about the inside compression short lining. Unlike mesh swim trunk linings found on other swim trunks which make your man parts all uncomfortable, the Coastal Dog Swim Trunks with built in compression shorts offer support and comfort far greater than any other bathing suit I’ve ever worn.
If they cost three times as much they would be worth it.

A Few Snapshots of LIV AND MATT’S WEDDING WEEKEND! #lobstercovewedding
With family visiting through the end of this week, and Liv and Matt here until Tuesday, I haven’t had a spare moment to look through the few photos I managed to take. I’ll post those within the next day or so. And the fabulously talented Esther Mathieu was our wedding photographer–I cannot wait to see her photos!! When things settle down I plan to make a list of all the local businesses who helped make Matt and Liv’s wedding simply magical. If you are on Instagram type in the hashtag #lobstercovewedding to see lots more snapshots.

Cedar Waxwing
The cedar waxwing is easily found in open habitat where there are berries. It times its nesting to coincide with summer berry production, putting it among the latest of North American birds to nest. It is highly gregarious; flocks of hundreds, occasionally thousands, are encountered during migration and winter.
I haven’t seen a cedar waxwing in years. I used to see them when I lived in Newbury, and a flock would land in a tree in the yard that had red berries. They would perch in a line along a branch. The first bird would pick a berry and then pass it to the next bird in line and on down until the last in line would eat it and on they would go in a progressive communal dinner party. It was the coolest thing to witness. This one was gathering dry stuff, obviously to make a nest.

Viva San Pietro!
Cape Ann Museum celebrates Fiesta with film,
photography, sculpture and more
The Cape Ann Museum is pleased to offer a special view of Fiesta-inspired art. The mini-exhibit will be on display in the lower level atrium from Tuesday, June 23 through Sunday, June 28 during Museum hours. Drawing on the Museum’s own collection, along with private collections in the area, the exhibit includes works by New York artist Philip Reisman who worked in Gloucester during the 1940s and 1950s, painters Lucette White and Eileen Mueller who captured the color and excitement of Fiesta in more recent years, and collage artist and sculptor Hans Pundt. Two documentary films about Fiesta will be available for viewing on a continuous loop throughout the week. Related exhibits and information can be found in the Museum’s Maritime Galleries.
St. Peter’s Fiesta – Festa di San Pietro – honors St. Peter, the patron saint of fishermen. It is the largest and most colorful of the celebrations that Sicilian immigrants brought to Gloucester. The tradition of celebrating Fiesta began in Gloucester the late 1920s as a neighborhood novena and expanded to a city-wide event in the 1930s. Fiesta is still celebrated in Gloucester in late June, with four days of music, dancing, parades, fireworks, seine boat races and the traditional greasy pole competition. On the last day of Fiesta, an outdoor Mass is held, followed by the blessing of Gloucester’s fishing fleet.

Help! How Should I Treat This Wood Table To Preserve It For Outdoor Use?
I’ve been looking for an outdoor prep station table for the new grill online and anything decent has been around $100 or it was plasticky looking schlock. Neither one were options I wanted to act on.
Yesterday to my good fortune I was driving by a yard sale and they had a beautiful old table, the perfect height with two layers to hold food, and grilling equipment. $15 is all it cost.
So here’s the thing. I don’t want to spend a lot of time or money restoring this table. I’d just like to do whatever I can with an hour’s worth of elbow greasy and less than $25 in materials to protect it from the elements, knowing it will be left outdoors.
How would you restore this table and protect it from the elements using the parameters I listed above? Toby suggested lightly sanding it using a coarse scothch brite pad and then using polyurethane. Does this seem like the best rout to you?
David Calvo? Anyone else that knows about wood, what are your thoughts?
