What? You’ve never been aboard the Beauport Princess Cruise Ship? Rectify that on Schooner Festival Sunday!

This is NOT a small whale-watch or fishing boat. Ā It’s a fully-loadedĀ CRUISE SHIPĀ featuring 2 enclosed decks with dance floors, 3 full-service bars (wine, beer & top-shelf liquor) and an open-air top deck — theatre seating on the first deck, tables on the second deck and couches on the top deck.

The weather will probably be great, but even if it’s not, you can party in luxury and comfort on both of the air-conditioned (or heated if need be) indoor decks with bars and dance floors.

Plus you’ll be partying with 5-time Grammy NomineesĀ Roomful of BluesĀ and cruising historic Gloucester Harbor full of tall ships on Schooner Festival Sunday! Ā Our last threeĀ concert cruises sold out, so pleaseĀ don’t be one of those people who calls us begging for a spot we can’t give you. Ā Get your tickets RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW. Then you can relax and enjoy Schooner Festival weekend!

VIDEO: Gloucester Sidewalk Bazaar 2015

Lisa Smith from Cape Ann TV writes, “Zack is blowing us away over here. If you get a chance, please watch it (it’s only 4 minutes). This is only Zack’s 3rd editing assignment on a short video. It is his first time going out and shooting an event, I helped him with the interviews and he shot all the b-roll himself! He did all the editing. Zack is going into his senior year at MERHS and I think he is destined for big things. We have had some very talented interns in here, but I have never seen anyone like him. Oh yeah, he is a really nice young man too.”

Strandbeests at Crane Beach

The kinetic sculptures of Theo Jansen, Strandbeests, were on display at Crane Beach Saturday morning. The place was jammed! Fascinating sculptures, machines, beings or whatever you might call them. they walked the beach powered by the wind. The event was a lead up outdoor show for the exhibit at the Peabody Essex Museum in September.

Alan Watts Quote of the Week from Greg Bover

ā€œMuddy water is best cleared by leaving it alone.ā€

Alan Watts  (1915-1973)

Born in Britain, philosopher and theologian Alan Watts moved to the US in the thirties, attending Episcopal seminary while at the same time receiving training in Zen Buddhism. He served briefly as a priest but left the church to pursue a career as a teacher, writer, and lecturer. His bestselling 1957 book The Way of Zen was one of more than two dozen he wrote on spirituality, religion and consciousness. Many of his brilliant lectures are available on the web and as an Iphone app, and focus on the idea that we are not separate from the universe which surrounds us.

Only 3 days left to join Patrick Stewart (whose new show premieres tonight) in supporting Ocean Alliance’s Snotbot!

You’ve heard about SNOTBOT, right? Ā OK, maybe you’re just visiting, so you haven’t heard about this yet. Ā Let me explain: few other Kickstarter pledges could be better for the future of Gloucester (and anyone who lives or visits here) than this one — really, no kidding. Ā You’ll be helping Ocean Alliance develop revolutionary drone technology for whale research — and there’s no telling what they might discover. Ā But what ever it is, you’ll be a part of it along with iconicĀ actor Patrick Stewart (Jean Luc Picard on “Star Trek”, with a new show called “Blunt Talk” premiering TONIGHT on Starz)!

This is good for Ocean Alliance (which translates good for Gloucester because we want them to thrive here), good for whales, good for our planet, and good for all of us who will benefit from whatever they discover using this new gizmo! Ā So pledge now right here.
