I regret to tell you guys that somehow or other the master used for the “This is Gloucester DVD is missing two chapters- The Why I Love Gloucester Interviews and the Saturday Greasy Pole Chapter.
The DVD is still awesome but thought I should let people know about it. If the reason you bought one was because out of the 21 Chapters those two were critical to your decision to purchase one I will issue you a refund before I ship them.
They look great and I’m thrilled with the results of how they play and Beth Swan’s cover arrangement, I just must have slipped one of the test DVD’s into the envelope when it went to the duplication company. It still has the Friday Greasy Pole, the mutant lobsters, the Novenas, The Gloucester at Dawn Video with Dan King’s music to it, The Good Harbor Zen videos, Down in The Fish Hold of The Captain Domenic, and more.
Just thought I’d let y’all know before I ship them though in case that was why you bought one.
If you want to buy one from the second batch there are 21 DVDs left to sell which should be here by the end of the week and will probably sell out by tomorrow.
Here are some screen shots of the menu-

After the Veteran’s Day Ceremony, I thought, “Well what do they need and how can I help?” Â It took me awhile but I called Lucia Amero at the Veterans Center and she told me that our troops are cold and they need our help. Â (Click the photo to watch the video) Here is what you can do:
I had a chance to capture the event of "Christmas" coming to Rockport with the addition of a beautiful 33 foot Christmas tree in Dock Square that was donated by the Nagle family on White Way. The Rockport DPW and Ace Hardware teamed up to carefully cut the 50 + year old tree down and load it onto a flat bed truck for its short journey to Dock Square for all to enjoy during this holiday season.
Please feel free to post it up on GMG for all to see….

You love booze. You love ice cream. Unfortunately, if you cram ice cream full of alcohol, it won’t freeze. If only there were a way… THERE IS! Meet the ladies who cracked the code.
It’s Friday afternoon, you’ve made it through the long week, and it’s time for Happy Hour, Gizmodo’s weekly booze column. A cocktail shaker full of innovation, science, and alcohol. Boo yah, let’s get drunk.
Alcohol flavored ice creams are abundant: Bailey’s, Guinness, Jack Daniels, Rum Raisin—they’re everywhere. But none of them have any kick. Why? Because alcohol’s freezing point is waaaaay lower than water’s, which means that it’s damn near impossible to get boozy ice cream to retain that lovely, semi-solid form we so adore. So there’s no booze in them, which is STUPID.
Thank god for Valerie Lum and Jenise Addison, who figured out how to stabilize the alcohol using gelatin (look away, vegetarians). After countless nights of trial and error these two awesome women who should win Nobel Prizes have come up with a system that will allow you to incorporate a cup of 80 proof booze into a quart of ice cream. That nets ice cream that’s approximately 13-percent alcohol by volume. Not bad! The duo came up with 50 recipes for boozy ice creams and sorbets in their book Ice Cream Happy Hour. We quite enjoyed making the frozen White Russian in the video above; here’s what you’ll need to make it at home:

Greasy Pole Fundraiser Event Fall Classic Newell Stadium
Description: HOLY COW We’re Gonna Walk the Greasy Pole at the Football field. For the Greasy Pole Fund, Contact Joe Novello, Peter "Black" Fronterio for walker and all other info, Rain Date Nov.19 Fundraiser Event Newell Stadium
Saturday, November 12, 2011 12:00pm-4:00pm
Here’s the article in The Gloucester Daily Times-
Have you ever wanted to walk Gloucester’s famed Greasy Pole?
Come Nov. 12, you’ll have your chance.
Launching its fund-raising effort to restore the Greasy Pole and its pier — damaged during Tropical Storm Irene, then dumped onto its side by high winds and tides Sept. 30 — the St. Peter’s Fiesta Committee is offering 120 people the chance to walk the pole during a program planned that day for Gloucester High School’s Newell Stadium.
"Out of the whole Greasy Pole structure, we were able to save the actual walking pole," said St. Peter’s Fiesta Committee President Joe Novello, whose group is seeking to raise $85,000 to fully cover the construction, permit fees and other costs connected with restoring one of Fiesta’s centerpieces. The drive has already received a $35,000 lift from The Boston Foundation, Novello said.
In the Nov. 12 benefit, the pole and its flag will be extended from a flatbed truck some 3 to 4 feet off the ground, with rubber padding beneath it to cushion the inevitable falls. And the first 120 people who sign up and cough up the $25 donation will get to walk the pole, in three groups of 40, Novello said.
