17 days, 17 hours 17 minutes, 17 seconds Blackburn Challenge July 17

In January I posted 190 days to the Blackburn Challenge. 21 miles around Cape Ann with a paddle or an oar. Start my regime. I could do it.

Now there are only 17 days, 17 hours 17 minutes and 17 seconds left to July 17 when I am supposed to check in at 6 AM at the Gloucester High School parking lot. What was I drinking thinking?

I panicked yesterday and went to the kayak store to find an upgrade to my fifteen year old fuzzy green plastic kayak. Nothing really leapt off the wall to tell me a new boat could circle Cape Ann with ease and have plenty of time for a cold frosty after I made it under the greasy pole. My old reliable boat will have to do. I’ll shine that puppy up, slap a couple of GMG stickers on the bow, and it will slide through the water like greased lightning.

If you are thinking of watching from a specific spot just reply here and I will stick you on the map. Damon in “Glass Slipper” has Lanes Cove covered. My wife will be on Andrews Point. After that it’s touch and go. If you could supply a new set of arms or a cold frosty off Whale or Loblolly Cove I could then turn the corner and head for the Dogbar. (The bar by way of the breakwater.)

If you haven’t seen Bert The Conqueror on The Travel Channel You might just want to check out an upcoming episode when Bert Kreischer the star gave the Greasy Pole a run.  It’s quite an honor to walk on the Pole of Fiesta but for The Travel Channel the Fiesta Committee gave the green light.

Ages: 9-13 & 14-17

Session Length: One week, Monday-Friday

Session offered: Session 2 Girls ages 9 – 13 ( Coach Joe Billante) June 28th-July 2nd

Session 4 Boys ages 9 – 13  July 12th – 16th

Session 5 Girls ages 14 -17 ( Coach Joe Billante)    July 19th- 23

Session 7 Boys ages 14 – 17      August 2nd-6th

Time: 9:00am-12:00 Noon

Our experienced coaches will lead players through drills, activities and games to hone skills and help develop players toward their full potential.

Good evening,

I realize that this is late notice, however, I wanted to pass some information off to you regarding one of our soccer teams.

Our Under 14 Division II boys team has made it to the championship game for Essex County, which takes place tomorrow morning(Sunday) at 9:00 at the Pingree School in South Hamilton, MA.  Eliminations for this division started on Thursday for this team, where they beat Georgetown (5-0) and then today beating Triton (4-1).  Tomorrow they will play Boxford for the title of Essex County Youth Soccer Tournament Champs.  If the team takes the title, they will move on to the state tournament, which takes place in Lancaster next Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Hi Folks, Its that time of year again – School is almost over and summer will be upon us.  I’ve attached the 2010 Baseball camp brochure.. The camp is the same week as last year June 21-24. Feel free to forward to all that you think interested. Also I am thinking of offering a second week of camp during the summer. It would run the week of July 12 if you think this is something you might be interested in please let me know.
