4:35AM Staging area.

I got up extra early to get some coverage of the set up at the staging area in Saint Peter’s Square (video uploading now)

The race workers are professionals at this all having worked for the company for a while and all knowing their role.  With an hour til competitors will be showing up they were cool, calm and collected, even making jokes knowing that by 5AM the whole place will be bustling with activity.  If I were a triathlete I’d get down there early to sign in if you hadn’t already done so yesterday because the lines will probably get big in a hurry.-

Patricia Osborn 2010 KAOS Seine Boat Crew Picture

Hi Joey-  I have a pretty great shot of the KAOS boat from the seine boat race at Fiesta 2010- and was wondering if you would be interested in posting it. I planned on printing it, etc. for a gift but then decided to share with the rest of Gloucester. If you decide to post it I assume my name will be associated with it? It’s a keeper.

**BREAKING NEWS** well, not really

While I was at the State Fish Pier.  enjoying a home brewed cup of Coffee and reading my new Book

“The Yellow House: Van Gogh, Gauguin, and Nine Turbulent Weeks in Provence”(I may be as F’D Up as he was) this morning. I looked up and spotted a fast moving object heading my way. Man, those Seagulls can fly when they get a Tail Wind! Then out of the corner of my eye I spotted a very slow, sluggish and weighted down surface vessel.  Oh, it was Paul Morrison in his new Surge Kayak hugging the State Fish Pier. what a Beautiful colored (not Paul’s beat red face) Kayak, Light blue top with white hull. Very Sleek! (again, not Paul Morrison).

After Tossing Paul a couple of  Lattof Farms Monkey Breads from Rockport, Ma.

He headed off into the Sunset, I mean Sunrise.

But, Really. He was moving pretty Fast. That new Boat will do him good in next years Blackburn Challenge. He has a little work to do getting out of the thing. But I promised not to say anything about that. If I had some Manbags I’d be out there with him on Sunday Mornings.

Here are a few Photos of Paul and his Kayak from today;

Paul Skirting the Coastline and pissing off the Pier Anglers as he slices through their lines.

Things To Do- GREENBELT TRAIL RUN (5K OR 10K) July 17, 2010

Hello Joey,
My name is Julia and I work at the Essex County Greenbelt Association.
We are having an upcoming trail run, as part of the North Shore Trail
Series, on our Pingree Reservation on July 17.
I was wondering if you could please post this description about the
run on your blog to help promote the run:
GREENBELT TRAIL RUN (5K OR 10K)
July 17, 2010
9 a.m. start
Pingree Reservation, Pingree School, Hamilton, MA
*Only the 10K race is part of the North Shore Trail Series
Greenbelt’s Run for the Hills trail race is back for a third year!
Last year’s run had a wonderful turnout and was a lot of fun. As
always, we are excited to promote the use of our conserved land for
the sport of trail running. This year, Run for the Hills 10K is part
of the North Shore Trail Series!
Encouraging people to get outdoors and on our properties for
recreational pursuits is important to Greenbelt. We expect this race
will encourage both novice and experienced runners to lace up and hit
the trail!
As a regional land trust, we have a responsibility to educate
community members about the benefits of land conservation. One way to
have people understand why conservation is important is to help them
enjoy and experience protected land in their community. With the trail
run, we will introduce more people to our land conservation efforts,
while providing a fun and healthy outdoor activity.
Or do I need to post this description about the trail series run on
your blog, and if so, how do I go about doing so?
Thank you for your help,
Julia
