Using my new lens on Sunday

Ricky is so good to me, very early birthday present, a Tamron lens, 18 to 400 mm.  Very excited.  Also getting some fresh air.

Friday’s waves, rain and then sunshine

Love living on Cape Ann,  weather can change within 3 hours.  Also the ocean smell is amazing.

Roaring Ocean and very windy conditions on Saturday morning

While taking a walk on Saturday morning the wind helped me more along.  The ocean was roaring.  Feeling so blessed.

Shore Road Closure Magnolia Pier rebuild

Talked to an engineer the other day with regard to the crane on Shore Road to build the Magnolia Pier.  The workers have been very polite and considerate of the neighbors and walkers.  He informed me that the crane can reach over 200 feet.  He also stated that most likely it will take about two more weeks with the crane.

Sandy Point State Reservation

Sandy Point State Reservation is at the end of Parker River Wildlife Refuge.

The reason the sand is purple is due to quartz and manganese garnet deposits from the nearby hills that washed down to create the purple colors and is most visible after storms.

This is one large crane

Ricky is 6 feet but standing next to the crane give a prospective of the size of this piece of machinery.  The pier is coming along.

Update on the Magnolia Pier

The crane at the Magnolia Pier is so big, the road is closed.  The workers were drilling down some pilings today and you can see the dust coming from the pilings.  Very exciting.
