Chickity Check It- The Parsons Project

The Parsons are having a baby.

Who are the Parsons you ask?

Why Rob and Kristen, DUH!

They are a Gloucester couple who put up a blog to let family members and friends know what’s up with their pregnancy and house renovations getting ready for said baby.

Check out the beautiful wide pine floors and job they’ve done with the baby room.

Here’s a return shout out- HEYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!

Life’s a Typo is a blog from a gal named Kalesy(never heard that one before).

She’s been blogging a long while and updates pretty damn frequently over the course of a couple years now. That shows a real dedication. I know because there are just some days where I think nah I don’t feel much like putting anything up.

Then I think about the random folks I meet on the street that say they look forward to reading my blog daily or seeing what pics were put up. Then there’s the emails from folks that have moved away and they tell me that they love seeing pics of places around town. That sort of stuff motivates me.

I know I’m not the most gifted photographer. My theory is shoot a bunch and then go through and hope you got a few right. If a pic isn’t exactly crisp but gets the point accross, I’ll generally still post it. My intention isn’t to be a famous photographer, it’s just to share and log my life the way I see it and present what interests me.

Kelesy wrote a nice entry about my little blog so I thought I’d return the favor and give her props for keeping at it like she does. I’m sure there are folks that look forward to reading her blog and click on a bookmark to it every day, hoping that she posted somethin.

Props go to you Kalesy!

Local Gas Prices 4:45AM 3/16/08

I updated some local gas prices this morning on the CapeAnnGasPrices.com site.
Check here and add the prices if you are inclined for the stations that I missed.
Here is the site –CapeAnnGasPrices.com

I was shocked to see a whopping 22 cent difference in gas price between the US Petroleum on Washington Street and Flanagan Square’s price. The Tally’s by St Peter’s Park was 17 cents cheaper per gallon than the US Petroleum.

5 or even 10 cents wouldn’t be enough of a difference to make a comment about, but 22 cents? On a 15 gallon fill up that is $3.30 on a 20 gallon fill up thats $4.40 and they are .4 miles apart from each other according to Google Maps.

F/V Allison Carol

Captain Peter Mondello of the F/V Allison Carol told me this morning that he will now be doing fishing charters.

I don’t know what he will be charging, have nothing to gain financially if you book a charter through him.

What I do know however is that you won’t find a more relaxed, knowledgeable, fun loving skipper to put you on fish. If you want a hoity toity white glove fishing experience this probably isn’t the charter for you. But if you want to catch fish and plenty of them while having a great time with a really funny skipper that has been commercial fishing longer than I have been alive, then do yourself a favor and contact Pete.

 Chili Choice

I just love this place.   Every time I walk in I feel like I’ve known the girls for years and they are always willing to accomodate my tweaking of the dishes.

The prices are reasonable.  The ingredients the freshest and it shows in the tasty dishes they prepare.   Another reason Gloucester is the best place in the world to live- funky joints like Chili Choice.

Check out Trevor Corson’s Secret Lives of Lobsters Blog.

Many of my fishermen love the book, and his blog details many issues dealing with lobsters including the great “Do lobsters feel pain?” debate. There are many entries to peruse and it is about as well laid out and jam packed a lobster blog as you’ll find.
