Art Haven -Andy Cleary

dsc_6338-small-a

When I was out shooting St. Patrick’s Day window displays Tuesday, I stopped in at Art Haven to see the kids and their projects. Some were working on the windows out front, but my friend Andy was creating art from an old guitar. He had some cool stencils and spray paint that he used to create incredible designs.dsc_6345-small-a

I went back today to check out Andy’s progress. He wasn’t there, but the guitar was against the wall drying.

He said it wouldn’t be a working guitar, but it sure is a work of art!

This looks like a scene right out of the Alfred Hitchcock movie. I can’t help it, but I was scared just sitting in my car watching this yesterday. Doesn’t take much though!

Wall Street Autumn

For those of you who didn’t get to the Gloucester Guerrilla Art Project II last week, this is my photo video of “Wall Street Autumn”. My friend Peter Fedele is playing amazing guitar on the musical piece from his CD Hullabaloo. He lives in Rockport with his wife and 3 children. I love listening to him play.

Thanks, Joey, for helping me figure out how to get this posted! You are the best!

Bananas Barbie Doll Chandelier

Richard Leonard put this funky Barbie doll chandelier together.  If you notice all the Barbie dolls have their hair cut off.  That was to avoid any potential fire hazard.

Funky Gloucester right there baby!

Joni King Models A Vintage Dress At Bananas

While at Bananas interviewing Richard Leonard in pops this woman, Joni.

She is poking around and out of the frame of the video I was taking but Richard knew her well as she was one of his regular customers.  He had a pile of dresses put aside for her in her size, things he thought she would like, all waiting for her to show up as she apparently does weekly.

Now I know we have great merchants Downtown and this is just another example of how our community is special and places like Bananas and others cater on a personal level to our community.

You think someone at the mall is going to put certain sizes and styles aside for a customer and have them waiting for them to pop in to try on without notice?  Bravo Richard!  Bravo Bananas!  Bravo Gloucester!

Here’s Joni donning a vintage dress that just happened to fit her perfectly.
