Summer days at Sandy Bay Yacht Club are definitely some of my boys’ favorite days of summer.

Boston Cannons Lacrosse is a Must See
I was fortunate enough to spend another day at Endicott College photographing the Boston Cannons Major League Lacrosse game….this time against none other than the New York Lizards and their Paul Rabil. The Boston/New York rivalry exists on the lacrosse field as it does on the court, the rink, and in the end zones of other major league sports. Both teams were phenomenal to watch and at many points during the game the score was tied. After an unreal beginning to the 4th quarter, the Cannons were able to rally and finish the game up 15-13.
As with before, I was struck by not only the fast paced and action packed game, but also the incredibly fan-friendly environment. Lacrosse is no joke and the speed, agility, and fierceness demonstrated on the field is in stark contrast to the friendly and engaging fan experience that takes place on the sidelines after the game. Which simply adds to its appeal.
The two games at Endicott College were part of the Boston Cannons Cannons in Your Community initiative that’s goal was to bring Major League Lacrosse to both the North and South Shore areas. The South Shore games took place in Hingham.
Endicott was a spectacular venue for a large sporting event and nothing would make me happier than hearing that the Cannons will be returning next summer. That being said, I look forward to heading into Boston later this season to catch the action on their home field at Harvard Stadium.
The Cannons’ next home game is on Saturday, July 28th at 5:00 pm

Last Night’s Wicked Tuna Season Finale/100th Episode Party
When the season finale and the 100th episode of Wicked Tuna happen to fall on the same day, National Geographic throws a party! Possibly they planned it that way. Who could blame them.
We were super excited to be invited down to Bass Pro Shops at Patriot Place last night to attend National Geographic’s viewing party of the 100th episode and to be in attendance to see who was named winner of this past season. Congratulations, by the way, to Tyler McLaughlin and his crew on the Pinwheel.
Annisquam River Sunset

Deck Drinks
One of my favorite things about summer is the opportunity to sit on one of the water front decks that we are lucky to have around town, look at the view, and have a drink after an awesome day at the beach or on the water. Saturday’s deck of choice was the Mile Marker for some shark bites , bang bang shrimp, and a Corona.

The Stuff Childhood is Made Of
Thursday night lights. Rockport Little League Play-offs, Major B. Game One.
A sweet little Thursday night game under the lights at Parisi Field with the High School field of dreams looming in the background.
National Anthem, 6 innings, team BBQ (for both teams of course), laughter, running, more laughter, and then ice cream over at the Dairy Train.
Quintessential small-town Little League and the stuff that childhood is made of.

Pigeon Cove
I took these two photos while walking the dog yesterday afternoon. Some pigeon Cove the history.

Meet the New Rotary in My Life
In case I should ever feel that Blackburn Circle and Grant Circle aren’t enough, now I have a 3rd rotary to navigate each day. This one is miniature and kind of cute….oddly enough.
This is Route 22 off of Exit 18 in Beverly. It is the younger sibling to the one that was added last year on Brimbal Ave near what will soon be the new Whole Foods….further ensuring that I have the joy of encountering drivers who don’t know how to navigate a rotary no matter which direction I head.

Inaugural Bluefin Blowout Family 5K
Nice turnout. Check.
Exercise and Family Fun. Check.
Money raised. Check.
Increased awareness for Alzheimers. Check.
#endalz. Trying like hell.
The first ever Bluefin Blowout Family Fun Run and 5K took place at Gloucester’s Stagefort Park yesterday morning. Runners and walkers rallied by the gazebo before starting out to complete the roundtrip course to Hammond Castle and back to the park. A beautiful course at that.
Adding to the excitement of the day, Becca Pizzi gave the word to kick off the run/walk as the honorary official. Becca Pizzi is a good friend to the Lyon-Waugh Auto Group and has also accomplished the unbelievable feat of running 7 marathons, on 7 continents, in 7 days for the World Marathon Challenge….twice. Amazing!
If anyone needed a reason to put some pep in their step, the news that the event had already raised close to $60,000 certainly helped! Rockstars!
With yesterday’s successful event in the books, we are all one step closer to enjoying what many people have come to call THE weekend of the summer, the Bluefin Blowout 2018. This year’s tournament marks year #7 and the goal is to make it the biggest and best yet. That’s no easy goal considering the success of year’s past, but if anyone can do it it is Lyon-Waugh Auto Group and the tremendous sponsors that add to the tournament’s success each year….not to mention the captains and crews.
With that in mind, mark your calendars NOW for August 2nd-4th and plan on spending some serious time at Cape Ann’s Marina Resort
We hope to raise some big bluefin at weigh-in, raise lots of hands for bidding, raise awareness for #endalz, and raise a huge amount of money for the Alzheimer’s Association …. and maybe raise the roof with DJ Scottie Mac and other live entertainment. Please join us!

Boston Cannons Lacrosse at Endicott
As part of their newly launched “Cannons in Your Community” initiative, the Major League Lacrosse team is bringing fast-paced and action packed lacrosse to Boston area towns including Beverly’s Endicott College and Hingham.
The Cannons home field is at Harvard Stadium, but the team is happy to be bringing games to other communities as well.
The Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) announced today that the club has created a new initiative to bring select regular season home games to two greater Boston communities in 2018. The Cannons will play one game at Hingham High School in Hingham, MA, and two games at Endicott College in Beverly, MA. The “Cannons In Your Community” effort is focused on strengthening the team’s community outreach and increasing direct engagement with greater Boston area lacrosse fans.
“We’re extremely excited to bring Cannons lacrosse to the communities of the South Shore and North Shore, both are very passionate about the sport,” said Cannons President Ian Frenette. “While our game continues to grow at a significant pace, we need to continue to do our part to drive the continued growth and engagement with current and prospective lacrosse fans in their towns. This initiative is going to give fans an even closer look at Cannons action in an intimate environment and provide us the opportunity to reach new fans by bringing the game to their neighborhood.”

The boys and I attended yesterday’s game at Endicott College and had an amazing time. The energy and enthusiasm was palpable and fans were able to get super close to the action. The opportunity to see such a high level sporting event in such an intimate setting is one not to be missed.
After the game the players spent 30 minutes interactive with fans, posing for photos, and signing autographs. My boys talked endlessly about how friendly the players were and how cool it was to get to meet them. The team is spot on with their hopes that experiences like “Cannons in Your Community” will help introduce more fans to this great game.
This is such a phenomenal opportunity to attend a major league sports event. Be sure to mark your calendars for June 23rd and don’t miss this chance to watch the Boston Cannons take on the New York Lizards back at Endicott College @ 6:00 pm
