Video- Dory Rowing Gloucester Harbor With Joey and Kyle

Filmed Using The Kayalu nClamp and Kodak Zx3

Loving these Kayalu clamps. The ball heads are completely interchangeable between the suction head RAM Mount and The nClamp so you can mount a camera in just about any situation. The things that get me goin, I swear I’m such a geek.

Mitchell Patrick Wants You To Check Out His Sites- TheOtherCape.com and plutomedia

Hey Joey,

I’ve been a fan and follower of your site for a while now … i think you do an amazing job (where do you get the time and energy?). I wanted to share a site i just launched called TheOtherCape.com

It’s still WAY under construction, but I’m building it up slowly. It’ll most likely appeal to visitors than residents, but who knows where it’s headed, right? Take a look and lemme know what you think.

And again, keep up the AWESOME work!

GMG Health and Fitness Week- Crossfit Cape Ann

image

First, we are NOT a normal gym. Our workouts change everyday, not only keeping it fresh and exciting, but giving our athletes a broad based level of fitness that allows them to perform well at any task life throws at them. ROUTINE IS THE ENEMY! We believe that true health and fitness is attained by training a wide variety of functional movements and executing them at high intensity. CFCA challenges the “big-box gym” mentality by using barbells, kettlebells, gymnastics, medicine balls, plyometrics, and Olympic lifts to get their athletes in peak physical shape. We don’t have machines…you are the machine!

CrossFit works for a wide range of people. Our classes are made up a variety of people of all athletic backgrounds. It is common to have soldiers, soccer moms, and senior citizens all working out side by side. The daily workout is the same for everyone; it’s the intensity we change to meet individual needs. We can adjust weight up or down, scale movements to train around injuries or deficiencies, etc. The end result is that everyone gets a great workout that is scaled appropriately to their abilities.
At Crossfit Cape Ann there is a genuine sense of community, encouragement, and maybe a just a touch of friendly competition. That supportive community and class structure is the greatest asset to keeping your workouts fun and you accountable. Also, all of our members are required to set measurable goals (“to get in shape” is not measurable) and given a journal to track their fitness progress.

Come down and check us out for free and see if it’s for you. We train everyone from any fitness level and background. Our members are like family. All are welcome.

Check us out online for more info on our community

Video- The Crew Of The Degelyse Sets Out To Catch Liberated Buddhist Lobsters

To Make clear the following is only satire and I’ll take responsibility for people not from around the waterfront misunderstanding
I was wrong to assume that because I predominantly write our hyperlocal blog for our Cape Ann residents that people would understand how preposterous the notion that you could have time to move all the lobster gear even if they knew where the lobsters were released and to set it and for those lobsters which were probably miles away from that location would ever get caught.

I was obviously wrong and people did not understand with the outlandishness of it all that it was a joke.

It’s on me.

What I am happy for is that the releasing of the lobster story which would have been a simple story largely forgotten by now has gotten huge legs and all the positives of Buddhism are highlighted. For that I am grateful.

For those of you who would like to learn more about Chokhor Duchen click to find out.

You know the craziest part? So many people think I’m hatin on Buddhism, but I download a Buddhhism podcast from this guy that Lindsay Crouse recommended that I listen to- Lama Marut.
Check him out, the guy makes a lot of sense.

Receiving the coordinates of where the lobsters were released by Buddhist monks, the boys went out yesterday and hauled the lobster traps they set all over that ocean bottom and caught exactly 534 lobsters, the precise number the monks released.

The story from Reuters here

We used the Kayalu saltwater safe RAM camera mount to secure the Kodak Zx3 Saltwater proof camera to the aft window of the wheelhouse to record this.

Thank you and come again next year Mr Buddhist monks, we would like to invite you back again and again to purchase our lobsters and “restock the pond”

From Reuters-

GLOUCESTER, Mass. — Instead of plunging headfirst to their death in a pot of boiling water, 534 live lobsters escaped the dinner plate and belly flopped to freedom into the dark waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

A group of Tibetan Buddhists flanked the sides of a whale-watching boat at dusk on Wednesday, sprayed the lobsters with blessed water, clipped the bands binding their dangerous claws and gently released them one by one into the deep water below.

Jane Southworth Has Some Nice Things To Say

Hey Joey,

I love your web/blog which an old friend introduced me to.  I grew up in Magnolia (was there last weekend) and live in the Boothbay Harbor Region.  I keep seeing stuff that’s relative to this area.  Last week RESA was here, I watched her maneuvering out of a tight space in the harbor managing to back up, turn around and not smack into the lobster boats, kyakers, floats full of gear, sailboats, and 3 ferry boats….all maneuvering out at the same time!  I saved the pictures of BLUE GUITAR which has been coming here for years.  Just wanted to say “thanks” for making my morning (strong black coffee) so much more enjoyable.  Keep up the great job, it’s so nostalgic for so many of us who love the area.
