Friday Update: Our Friend Scottie Mac Needs Our Help. Please share This information From His Family and Friends

Friday Evening Update:

The outpouring of support from the community has been outstanding!

Many fundraisers are organized- The Crow’s Nest is collecting donations and Mary Ann Shatford has donated all of her tips. The Elks held a 50/50 Raffle tonight. Tomorrow night The Saint Peters Club is hosting a party with a $20 suggested donation with DJ’s Vito Ferrara and Tony Saputo donating their time. Sunday Cape Ann Lanes is donating 100% of the proceeds going to Scotties family account and my wife Katelyn is hosting a fundraiser. Joe Higgins donated several original Tuna Tail prints that are currently up for auction on his instagram page bid here , here and here

From Joe Higgins- “tuna tails for Scottie Mac: Scottie is a friend of mine (see previous post – he is in a Jamaican hospital in not very good shape and needs to be med flighted back to Boston- 100% of funds will go to his family organizing the funds to get him home – #item #3 The third tuna tail print I am donating is an original bluefintuna tail- it’s a about 24 wide x37 deep unframed – I will sign and stamp the print before giving it to you – I will close the bidding on Sunday evening this is between Instagram and Facebook and I only have one so I will update both sites with the largest bid. $100 minimum bid- Just place you bid in comments”

Meat and Sweets Foods are donating 100% of proceeds from their bean sale’s tomorrow.

More importantly- Scotties health. Today Scottie had a friend by his side and at one point, even though heavily sedated he spoke for the first time- “BL, get me the fuck out of here.”

Still waiting on more testing, Scottie is being taken to a neurologist. His girlfriend Alison and Aunt Terry have tickets to head to Jamaica in the morning.

The Better Together Venmo account has raised $35,000 at this point and the Bank account should be in very good shape.

Testing is needed to confirm that Scottie is in a good enough condition to be transferred via med flight to the US. Estimates for the med flight to Miami are coming in at $23,000, and if to Boston $45,000. Currently the family has set up an account at Cape Ann Savings Bank check’s payable to Scottie’s Aunt’s Name “Theresa Bunker” with Scott MacDonald in the memo line.
Cape Ann Savings Bank 109 Main Street Gloucester MA.

This is a tremendous hardship on the family as you can imagine and I know so many people love and support Scottie as he has been such a huge part of our community and always there for so many local organizations and businesses.
Please keep Scottie and his family in your prayers what is needed now is all the positive energy and political will to keep the spotlight on getting Scottie home safely and in good health.

This post has been put together in conjunction with Scottie’s family including his Girlfriend Alison, Father Bernie, Mother Nita, Sister Tammy and Aunt Theresa.
