In my small collection of family pictures, I have some from “back-in-the-day” Gloucester that I thought might be interesting to some of you. This first one is a bit of a mystery to me and I was hoping someone could help me identify the location. My notes say it is from 1936. I’m wondering where is was taken. I was guessing train station perhaps? I’m assuming it’s Gloucester. That’s my dad and his mother in the darker coat. Not sure of the identity of the other woman.
Here’s one labeled Long Beach 1930, again with my dad and his mother. The buildings in the background are interesting, as well as the fact that my grandmother was apparently wearing a necklace to the beach!
The date of this is unknown but in the general time frame of the late 30s – early 40s perhaps.
And, just for fun, here’s yours truly in Gloucester in 1966 on Traverse St. I’m the one in the glasses……. stylin’ as usual……..

I grew up on traverse st. next to ethel mills and her sister june, next them were the Levies. Could you be related to either one? just wondering I live in upstate new York now Louisville, New York by the st. Lawrence seaway in Massena.

This picture was taken in their back yard which shared the back boundary with my grandparents Catherine and Paul Ryan! I have vivid memories of these ladies. I don’t think they are related to the Ryans

I lived next door up hill our backyard touched Ethel and June’s back yard small world I knew the Ryan’s too. it is a small world .

june was the flashy sister in 1965 she bought a mustang convertible she always dressed to the nines ethel was more conservative they were great neighbors I used to shovel them out in the winter ethel was dean of women at the Gloucester high school they were both awesomw ladies total opposites I knew your grandparents too great people.
