I recently purchased a copy of the 1944-45 Flicker, the Gloucester High School Yearbook and was intrigued by the story it told. So step back and take a look through the eyes of high school students in 1944-45:
The high school football team apparently had a very good season!
Remember these?

Oh boy fun walk back here – 🙂
Mom, Will remember this, a bit before my time! She went to elementary school in Bayview next to fire station when they 1-3 grade on the first floor 4-6th grade on second floor. Mr. Curtis was her art teacher in GHS.
When I was a young lad the playground was still there with swings and jungle Jim the school house was gone but some foundation was still present and it was surrounded by chain link fence.
Had Gina and Vic’s store across the street so had the goodies or if (Joe Fat’s ice cream truck drove by stop him for needs. He usually went to Plum cove beach and parked on North side of beach headed into Lanesville in his ice cream truck Cushman type!
Think when she was a teen the store had a jukebox in the backroom and teens drink there cokes and hand out dance there! 🙂
Oh the stores I do remember along with the Christmas decorations across main street every year just like the little town scene of Bedford falls wonderful life 🙂
