The Smile Behind ‘Gloucester Smiles’

One of my favorite series here on GMG is Manuel (Manny) F. Simoes’s ‘Gloucester Smiles‘. It’s easy to understand why all of the folks are smiling. Just look at his smile. How could you help but to smile when Manny is around?

  1. I love the “Gloucester Smiles” posts. Seeing where all the different people, visiting Gloucester, come from. Keep ’em coming! -maybe a quick quote, asking them what they came to see -or- favorite thing/restaurant they have been to, would be a good addition to these!

    lyrics:
Smile though your heart is aching
    Smile even though it’s breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you’ll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
    Smile and maybe tomorrow
You’ll see the sun come shining through for you

Light up your face with gladness
    Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what’s the use of crying?
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
    If you just smile
