Dear Joey:
One of Gloucester’s own, Katy Geraghty (GHS 2012 alum) is coming home to perform on the stage at GHS in March. She is bringing the music of a cappella in the form of The Hexachords, a six-person group from UMass Amherst. There will be a one-night only performance on March 13 – proceeds to benefit the high school’s Theater Department and their upcoming show “Legally Blonde.” Tickets are $8.00 for all seats and on sale now.
Thank you in advance for posting this. We’re excited to bring this award-winning college singing group to our own musically-rich city — hope everyone will come out to enjoy it!

Gloucester History Sharing Program is back! Thanks to funding from the Awesome Gloucester Fund for equipment and the sponsorship of the Phyllis A Marine Association, Beth Welin will return to the Rose Baker Center each month to give a presentation about Gloucester’s history. These slideshows focus on various pieces of our city’s history. It’s called the History SHARING Program because Beth will share what she’s learned about the topic while the audience is encouraged to share what they know.
The first program will take place on February 23 at 1pm upstairs in the Rose Baker Center. The topic will be Gloucester’s Former Grand Hotels. Arly Pett will join her sharing a number of pieces of memorabilia from various Gloucester hotels. The program will continue on the 4th Monday of each month. For more information go to the Phyllis A Marine Association website at www.phyllis-a.org.

Thank you for posting community events Joey! I am looking forward the a capella show at Gloucester H.S. I’ve seen Katy Geraghty in other performances; she is Great! Sounds like an amazing show.
