Rose at the DPW asked me to post on GMG that Monday February 9, 2015 trash pick up has been cancelled. The city will be operating on a holiday schedule and trash will be collected one day later than normal.

A real tough winter from what I just saw…I remember when they the GDT Cushman truck would throw the paper out in front on Kenny’s market for my route from Lanesville to Folly Cove and the other end to Plum Cove court, including high street, Langsford street, Rolly Shore up by days woods,Phew- into the snow banks – sometimes the only thing I saw was the square where it hit had to dig down to fine the bundle of papers wired together. Got smart and used a sled to put the paper-bag on pulled it in the streets where possible and then go on foot to the houses set back off the streets :-O
P.S. Some customers were not happy I was late and the paper was wet beyond my control (this was rare few most were like how did you make it here whew don’t ask for a guy 4.11 at that time good question…:-) Dave Oh the life of a paperboy times was 10 cents then.
