New Video: Henry Ferrini’s Windows Out of Gloucester

Lisa Smith writes,

Hi Kim,

I have something I hope you will post on GMG; it is a beautiful video.

Here is a video Henry Ferrini made during the great blizzard of 2015. It is called “Windows Out of Gloucester”. He captures the beauty of the snowstorm from his windows set high above Gloucester Harbor and uses Tchaikovky’s “Waltz of the Snowflakes” for the soundtrack. Note the red snowflakes-how did he do that?

  1. That was absolutely amazing!! Truly a work of art that I have now watched four times. I noticed something new each time, love all of the different parts to it, some dramatic, some comedic, some artistic and modern, some old-fashioned, just fantastic. Love the inside cat watching and reacting to the birds and the outside cat. All of the industry still happening in the middle of the blizzard like Montillaro’s Lobster truck and the snowplows and jogger and shovelers and the 2 crows on the telephone line and then the Paint Factory obscured at one point by the raging snow and then in the clear light of day, just awesome. Thanks for sharing!!

  2. Good stuff. The red snow flakes are from the snow flying past the street light. The camera’s white balance is set for the natural light, so the tungsten color of the street lamps show that unnatural color. Fun times.

  4. My daughter lives in Gloucester and sent this video to me. I live in Sunny Southern California where the temp has sat at about 77 degrees for the last month or so, so this is really a novel sight. Loved it.
