We all love to see people with their hearts in the right place reaching out to help where help is needed. I hope this shipment proves gets there in time to be of help and is useful once there. Relief agencies almost universally ask that donors do not give goods, but rather cash — cash that can be spent almost immediately in the vicinity of the stricken area so that the needed goods arrive more quickly, and the cash helps keep the local economy alive during such stressful times. In fact, relief agencies that specialize in this work try to keep good strong balances in their bank accounts, so they can act immediately — and then seek our help to help replenish that money so it’s available for the next emergency. That seems to be how the system works best.

While these relief drives are so very well intentioned, and it’s absolutely true that the need is tremendous and urgent, it is often far more effective to donate money directly to the relief organizations that are on the ground providing these critical supplies. You’ll make the greatest impact by giving generously and giving wisely. Instead of paying for shipping, that extra $55/box could be used to provide even more relief supplies.

It’ is really bad that way – the military has run bunches of missions (all Branches DOD) there and red cross and installation have been working hard this way donations to send…To be selfless is to place the welfare of others ahead of your own to achieve the Greater Good. It is not done lightly or easily. In order for an action be truly selfless, the Greater Good for the world around us must always supersede the Greater good for oneself.
We lost two military member’s this way in training accident up North training range – please keep all in your prayers it will be returned when you need it most Thank You!

Please think about donating some of your summer clothing instead of storing it. The people we are helping have lost EVERYTHING and they are in such remote area’s that it is hard to get them help. We have a chance to make a difference to a group that has direct ties to our wonderful city. I’m available to pick up any donations on Friday if you can’t make it on Saturday. 978-631-9015 or mcoxward2@gmail.com
Thank you!
