Castle Manor Does it With Flair

east goes west opening

Last evening was the opening reception for the East Goes West exhibit of works by Rocky Neck artists at Castle Manor Inn.  All I can say is, Castle Manor knows how to put on an event with a flair.  The function space looked beautiful, as did every other space in the Inn and restaurant, and the grounds are peaceful and meticulously maintained.  Appetizers and champagne served by a very professional and friendly staff were delicious.  Attendees were treated to tours of the exhibit and a sampling of rooms in the Inn, which are lovely and tastefully appointed.

If you have a wedding, anniversary or other function coming up, or friends, family or business associates coming to visit, you owe it to yourself to check out Castle Manor Inn.  On a more regular tip – check out Sea Glass restaurant or just stop by the pub for a drink.   The exhibit will be up through August, so stop by any time and check out the artwork and Castle Manor Inn.

  1. Gloucester constantly surprises me with these gems that I have not yet found. It was Sebastians the other day (hit them for lunch today again) and now this Castle Manor. Driven by maybe a thousand times. I thought it was a funeral home or some place for blue hairs to get the blue plate special.

I could not have been more completely wrong. What a beautiful place! Out the back I could reminisce about the Saturday start of the Blackburn Challenge start just over the rise in the marsh or just check out the beautiful gardens. The staff was so friendly I thought wow, they know my name and all then I realized I was still wearing my employee badge from work. Well played staff, well played.

Bringing the crew back for dinner next week because there was too much to do and did not check out all the GMG artwork. Joey said something about holding a Gatsby get together there sometime in the future. Perfect setting. I just need to find my white linen suit. Hmm, I don’t think I have worn that since a Bob Marley concert. Might have to go to Bananas and pick up another.

  2. I was pleasantly surprised too. I went there for a few Downtown Development Commission meetings, and it’s totally different now. The deck, the view, the bar, the ambiance, Wow! I stayed later and talked to the owner, a manager, and Chef Josh. I’ll post on this in the next few days. This is a must-go-to place. After GMG’s visit last night, I think we’ll be there again.
