Leftovers Again?
Peaches at the Farmer’s Market
From Arrowhead Farm. Â Seen at the Cape Ann Farmer’s Market at Stage Fort Park, Thursdays during the summer, 3-6:30PM. Don’t miss it! I had one of these peaches, and it was juicy and delicious (and messy, the way fresh ripe peaches should be).
Don’t worry, I’ll be posting more tantalizing photos of the many and varied products at the market, so you won’t forget…

Residents should pay extra attention to homes that are exceptionally hot and to warning signs of dehydration, heat stroke and exhaustion, which includes lack of energy, nausea and high body temperature.
The Rockport Council On Aging will also be welcoming seniors to the town’s air-conditioned Senior Center in the Community House at 58 Broadway.

Pet of the Week-Pi
Hi, my name is Pi, over here on the left! I am at the Cape Ann Animal Aid with my brothers Jack and Dash. The Cape Ann Animal Aid is now located at the Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter, Four Paws Lane, Gloucester. We are four-month-old pups who are Lab/Retriever mix.
We all love to play and we are also learning good manners and leash walking.
Please visit CapeAnnAnimalAid.com and learn about our upcoming events such as our booth at the Sidewalk Days in downtown Gloucester from August 2-4. Don’t forget “Dog Day” on September 9th and if it rains, it will be held on the 15th.  Maybe you will see me there with my new family?!
I am a sweet and affection little girl and I hope you might stop by and visit me.  The staff and volunteers here are great. They walk me and then I get to play in the kiddy pool; I love to swim. Wow! I’m tired again! Playing and being this cute takes work!

Attention Nike: Make Me Up Some Dri-Fit Boxer Briefs Stat
I have the greatest idea in the history of underwear and I can’t believe this hasn’t been done already.
With the insano heat we’ve been experiencing I know men everywhere will agree that a sweaty nutbag that’s stuck to your leg is just no fun.
Nike makes the greatest Dri-Fit moisture wicking t shirts known to man so why not whip up some Dri-Fit Boxer Briefs?
Hey I’ll be the spokesmodel for free. I’ll be the first customer and I’ll promise to buy 10 pairs (white please, I don’t need any fancy wierdo colors or designs, call me traditional)
Just get on it and produce me some Nike like STAT.
Men everywhere shouldn’t have to endure heat induced sticky nuts all day long when the answer and the technology is there for the taking.
My platform if I ever run for President will be nice dry nutsacks for every man in America if I get elected. Screw wasting money on all these messed up pseudo environmental programs where the only one saving or making money are the hacks behind these pseudo green technologies who take bajillions from our taxes. I’m promising a better American guaranteed and it starts with nice dry nuts.
Dry Nuts are Happy Nuts- That’s what I always say.
Who’s With Me?

(I’ve dated some broads in the past that could probably benefit from some Dri-Fit panties as well) just sayin…
GMG Inside The Numbers -Tuesday July 17, 2012 51,312 Views
We also posted our 23,000th post this morning.
That’s a whole lot of G Town Love. I’d say we’ve got a pretty good catalog of Gloucester material. if there is something you want to know about a search is worthwhile in the search box in the right hand column on the Blog.
I remember the first day GMG hit 100 views in a day and how psyched I was. Then I remember 1000, then 10,000 views, then I had the number of resident’s in the City of Gloucester as a target- BLAM blew that shit out of the water. I thought that there was a finite number of people with the nature of GMG being so hyperlocal that we would be bouncing off of barriers and topping off but no way Jose. Not yet anyway, the growth just keeps coming.
It’s a freight train baby. Jump on board and join the party or get run down by the beast.

9th Annual Seacoast Seven This Saturday, July 21.
Shortly after his wife Marion died, Art McCann conceived of a road race to honor her memory and as a fund raiser for the Friends of Seacoast Nursing Home. While Marion was a resident at Seacoast, Art took over the chairmanship of the organization which supplies residents with extras like live musical entertainment and a lovely garden they can enjoy during the warmer months.
It’s no surprise that Art chose a running event as he was a record-holding runner in his day at Quincy High School. As a long-time Gloucester resident, he set out to lay out a course that would provide runners with picturesque views of the ocean. And, as a serious runner himself, he made sure that the course qualified as a certified course.
This year the 9th Annual Seacoast Seven race is set for this Saturday, July 21 at Stage Fort Park at 9AM. Runners can preregister online at www.seacoastseven.com. They can also register Saturday at the park starting at 6:30 AM. The following flyer provides more information.
“Lobster glut brings down retail prices, at last” Article In The Boston Business Journal
Lobster glut brings down retail prices, at last
by Jay Fitzgerald, Special to the Journal
Boston Business Journal
Updated: Tuesday, July 17, 2012
An unexpectedly abundant catch this spring of soft-shell lobsters has finally begun to force down the price of lobster at restaurants and retail stores – much to the delight of consumers.
“We’re doing fabulous,” said Myalisa Waring, owner of the Lobster Pool restaurant in Rockport. “We’re serving lobsters like crazy. Everyone’s coming in and talking about the prices and want lobsters.”
“I haven’t seen catches like this in years,” said Frank Ciaramitaro, co-owner of Captain Joe & Sons Inc., a Gloucester wholesale dealer that buys lobsters direct from lobstermen on the docks. “For us, it’s been a record.”
Even though lobstermen began catching higher numbers of soft-shell lobsters in early June – about a month earlier than usual, creating an unexpectedly large surplus of lobsters early in the season – the retail prices for lobsters initially and generally held steady across much of Massachusetts through last week.
2012 Blackburn Challenge Slide Show From Len Burgess
This is Jujuba she has been missing since last Friday night.
Jujuba, became missing on Summit street in Gloucester last Friday night. If anyone finds her or knows anything PLEASE call Jessica at 978 879 6623 or 978 930 2704. She is very loved and we are VERY worried.
I know what it is like to have a missing pet. I am hoping someone found this dog and fell in love with it. I also am hoping if this is the case that they will show some love and return it to its owner. The police said to give it up because there has been reports of a coyote in the area. The owner and friends have not given up. They continue to search, posters are up around town and it has been posted on some websites too.
Thank you,
Joanne
