Bothways Farm Barn Raising Photos From Dean Burgess

Hi Joey,

Drivers along Southern Ave in Essex have been seeing the new barn going up at Bothways Farm,I thought I would share a few pictures for the Good Morning Gloucester viewers as it is not everyday that we get to see a barnraisng in progress.

The frame is made from Douglas Fir and is completely held together by joints and large dowels and no nails or metal braces are used.  The frame was made right on site from scratch. The trees were from Maine.

The foundation is actually part of the old giant greenhouse that was there back in the 60`s through 2000 which some of the older generation may remember.

2012 Gloucester Schooner Festival Photos From Brian O’Connor

Brian writes-

High light of the weekend was not only Gloucester Schooner Festival 2012 and another awesome Gloucester event but Ed brought free food on the boat with him.

Brian, Karen, Priva and Yitzchak Luster Represent in the U.K.

We did our best to represent on our recent trip to the UK, and actually managed to get a few shots.

Represent-1 is at the Prime Meridian in Greenwich, England.

Represent-2 is at the smallest house in Great Britain in Conwy, Wales.

Represent-3 is in the Gloucester Road tube station in London.

And the fourth picture is of a memorial in Conwy. I thought it might be of interest to GMG readers.

OK, school started & it’s after Labor Day so you think the Summer festival season is over, right? Wrong!

This Saturday (9/8) is Noise Magazine 31st Anniversary Fete starring Preacher Jack, Willie Alexander and T Max @ the Dog Bar.

If you missed these guys back in the spring, you DO NOT want to miss this!  If you were there, you’ll want to go again.  These guys ROCK!

And don’t forget Rob Newton’s Cape Ann Community Cinema music/movie festival Fall into the Rhythm starts next Tuesday with La Cenerentola.  Check this out from the Opera in Cinema website: A Live Fairy Tale, a stunning new film-opera event from producer Andrea Andermann, has been called “A kaleidoscopic fairytale suspended between Mozart and Disney with a hint of noir” by La Repubblica. Watch as Rossini’s jubilant take on the story of Cinderella unfolds in real castles and ballrooms in Europe, and through lush, never-before-seen animation.  Starring Lena Belkina as Cenerentola.

It’s still summer folks, as you can see by the fact that we have six live music choices tonight.  Check the full live music schedule here.

Pet of the Week-Josie

Hi!  My name is Josie and I am at the Cape Ann Animal Aid (CapeAnnAnimalAid.com) located at the Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter here in Gloucester. I can’t believe I am on Good Morning Gloucester! I must be famous and don’t even know it.

I am just one, still a kitten.  I have a beautiful coat.   I am a bit shy, but real calm and a loyal friend. I hope you might want to stop by and visit me at Four Paws Lane in Gloucester.   I have to run, if people know I was on Good Morning Gloucester, they might want my autograph and I have to practice my writing!

Sing-Along on the schooner Adventure

On Saturday, Sept, 1, during the Schooner Festival, there was a pot-luck supper and sing-along on the schooner Adventure, docked on Rocky Neck. It was a great time!  I was there last year too, and this is the sort of the thing that makes me so glad to be in Gloucester!
