    1. Monday: The original name of Main Street was Fore, then Front Street. Middle Street still exists. And Back Road was the 18th and 19th century name for Cherry Street.
Tuesday: The theater in present-day Palazola’s parking lot was the Strand Theater. The first movie ever filmed on Cape Ann was a 1920 silent movie by Fox called Bride 13. It was shot on Salt Island.
Wednesday: The reservoir for the newly established Fire Department was on the corner of Main and Pleasant streets. (Did you notice the Pleasant St sign in the background?)
Thursday: The score of yesterday’s football game was Gloucester 35, Danvers 20. The Thanksgiving Day football rivalry between Gloucester and Danvers began in 1964.
Friday: The Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce was established in 1922. And it currently lists 1070 businesses!
