  1. Great pictures of the Hill Tigers Team ; PeeWee have come a long way since my days on the West End Tigers in 1960. There was No team for us kids from the west end -centeral city area so we went to tryouts with East Gloucester Team for a few weeks till one day we were told that a team was to start up called the West End Tigers. We were the least backed team by our parents and west end businesses, at that time many didn’t believe in organized sports- just street and field horse play that kids just did. These were the peace years after WWII an money was still tight from lessons so hard learned; We had to buy our own sneakers and spray paint them gold, operated out of a back room of the Old Timer’s on Main Street , because one of the coachs was a bartender there. But because of those early days the baby boomers surported there kids and the many forms of sports to help build strong young men and women of Gloucester.
