Fishermen Tattoo Series- Frank Aboard The Lady Jane
Cape Ann Savings Bank Cupola
Does anyone know anything about the history of the cupola atop Cape Ann Savings Bank? I just love it and it’s uniqueness.

“I found them all but they seemed to be in “reverse order” from your directions. Also, the date of the first one is not in chronological order since it is “sticky” to the top of the GMG blog. Anyway, here they are. No need to count my entry. I just like playing.” 1. participating : GMG Schooner Festival Photo Contest! – 9/3 (but stuck at top of page) 2. superbly : Schooner Bluenose II 4:45AM 9/6/09 – 9/7 3. bouncy : Schooner Festival – 9/6 4. bowsprit : Schooner Festival – 9/6 5. lovers : Dog Days Coming Up 9/13/09 – 9/6 6. enclaves : Posted on Cape Ann Online By User flutterby – 9/5 7. The Cupboard Menu Board
The fish sandwich is an outstanding value at $4.95. They use sole which is an excellent fish for a fish sandwich.

Gloucester Classic- The Cupboard Counter
The counter at the Cupboard is made from a classic formica. All those years, all those patrons served and that old formica countertop is still holding up. Sure it’s well worn in certain spots, but polished up over the years it’s certainly timeless. I’d go as far to say that there is something comforting about and old worn formica countertop. You know if the establishment that you’re eating at has one like it that they serve the kind of grub that will leave you satisfied.

From Dave Sag – Thursday Night Blues Party @ the Rhumb Line
Well, summer’s over, but we don’t care. We’re still going strong with our lil shows, and we always will! So, another big week for me. Here we go!
This thursday at the Rumline I’m proud to present Mr. Joe Bargar, he of the liquid voice and flittering fingers that  make the grooves hum. Drumbling onward will be L’il Steevie Chaggaris on his kool kit ‘o skins. and ,of course, Greg T. and his hat. I’ll be around, too, like a doughnut.

Exit 11 Capt. Carlo’s Friday Night!

From Dave Sag-
And Friday: Â The Geezers will be limping back into Elliot’s at the Blackburn for yet another grueling experiment in physics.Dave Brown, Dave Mattacks, Greg Tower and myself will be attempting cold fusion of the blues. With any luck, by the end of the night there will be nothing left on stage but a steaming heap. Come find out!
And Sunday, I’ll be up at Glenn’s Cool Bar and Restaurant in Nbpt. From 6 to 9 p.m. playing with this groovy band consisting of my buddies Justin Quinn, on vocals and harp, and his entire aggravation including Jon Ross on gooeytar, Per Hanson, the scariest drummer I’ve ever played with, and Curtis “Lemay” Haines, the Mayor of Nbpt. and a fine stride pianist. Make reservations now! The food is great and the band ain’t too shabby!
Don’t be a cube, Rube; go ape! Live music is best!

For All You Bike Freaks

You know who you are. The guys that wear the funny shorts that are way too tight and suck your balls right up into your body cavity. The same guys that wear those funny space man hats and shoes that go clipity clop when you walk. Yeah you-
There’s a biking event coming up that you won’t want to miss- The Great Brewers Gran Prix of Gloucester.

From the site-
The Great Brewers Gran Prix of Gloucester – or as The Ride Magazine has called it “the New England Nationals” – unfolds at one of the most beautiful race venues in the country: a wind-swept ocean side park in Gloucester MA.
For information on race categories, race schedule and registration as well as lodging, restaurants & local interests, the racers’ section has all the info you need.
Here’s some video GMG guest interviewer Eric Lorden got at last year’s race-

Fort Square Cafe Mudiga Steaks and Eggs
The Mrs, The Bean and Snoop Maddie Mad are heading over to my mother’s house this morning to learn how to make mudiga and zugu. My favorite home cooked meal growing up was always mudiga steaks with mashed potatoes and peas.  I’d make a little nest in the mashed potatoes and put the peas in there.
