2022 Mordomo’s are Mr. and Mrs. Jose Dias Ferreira, they have been hosting the crown in their home for the past year. Father “Jim” Achadinha celebrated Mass with Mr. and Mrs. Ferreira and members of the DES Club.
A week of prayer has been held at the DES Club, the procession and Feast of the “Holy Spirit” is on Sunday June 12th at Our Lady of Good Voyage staring at 10:00 AM from the DES Club.
The Portuguese Community celebrates Trinity Sunday with the 700 year old traditionial crowning ceremony.
This year’s “Emporator” was Elja Bagaco, her daughter Delia Morrissey represented her in the procession to the church.

The Trinity Sunday mass was given by Father ‘Jim” Achadinha at Our Lady of Good Voyage.
After mass the Traditional meal of “Sopas” took place at the D.E.S. Portuguese Club.
State Senator Bruce Tarr and Mayor Sefatia Romeo Theken enjoyed the traditions along with hundreds of people at the D.E.S. club. (Divino Espirito Santo)
Elja Neves Bagaco seen here with her father (Manuel Neves) several years ago, is the 2018 “Emporator” for the Feast of the Holy Spirit on Trinity Sunday.
Her daughter Delia Morrissey will be representing her during the procession and ceremonies.
Elja Bagaco was diagnosed with ALS in January 2017 and the disease has quickly progressed. Since then, she has required a G-tube and then had a respiratory arrest in November. She now has a trach and on a vent. The family desperately wanted to get her home requiring a 24/7 nursing care. She is now being lovely cared for at home.
The entire Portuguese community prays to the Holy Spirit to give strength to Elja and her entire family.

The D.E.S. (Divino Espírito Santo) Portuguese club Celebrated Trinity Sunday, with the over 700 year old Tradition of honoring the Holy Sprit.

Friday May 29, Father “Jim” will be leading in the singing of the Rosary in Portuguese; all are invited at 6:30 at the Portuguese Club on Prospect Street.
May 31st Mass will be held on Trinity Sunday at 11:45 at Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, the Crowing procession will depart the Portuguese Club at 10:00.
