My View of Life on the Dock
From Iain Kerr-
We will be showing the movie ‘The Cove’ this weekend in Gloucester.
There will be two screenings of The Cove (to benefit the Ocean Alliance) this weekend at the Cape Ann Community Cinema, Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, November 22, both at 2pm. The Cape Ann Community Cinema is at 21 Main Street, upstairs from Mystery Train. More information is attached.
I will introduce the film and answer questions on the film and if people are interested on the Paint Factory after the showings.
Hope to see you there.
Cheers
Iain
From Linn Parisi-
Discover Gloucester’s free, monthly Mug Up Meeting is at the Cape Ann Brewery on Tuesday, November 17, 6PM for all interested tourism related business owners, managers, sales staff, volunteers, etc. It’s a great opportunity to network and share knowledge, and have a Pumpkin Stout before it’s gone. The featured speaker is Phyllis Cahaly from the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism (MOTT) who will talk about the Domestic market of visitors and how we can get more of them to come here, following up on last months’ informative International market chat. Thanks to Jeremy and Dylan for this opportunity!

Hello downtown friends,
I’m writing to let you all know about what we’re plotting to help bring downtown into the Middle Street Walk festivities on December 12th. As the Middle Street Walk will essentially be ending by about 4:00 and we at Art Haven will have ice sculptures and buoy painting going on all day during these festivities, we thought that a lobster trap tree lighting ceremony would be the perfect culmination of the days events. However, we’d like to make this lighting ceremony into a much bigger event than it’s ever been, and we’d appreciate your help in that in any way possible. So, here’s a list of the things we hope to have going on between 4:00 and 6:00 on the 12th followed by a list of immediate action that needs to be taken. Please don’t hesitate to voice your opinion if you have suggestions or ideas for us to improve what we have already started planning!
What will be happening: 4:00-6:00pm, December 12th
What needs to happen now:
Sincerely,
Dawn Gadow and David Brooks
