Snow removal the old-fashioned way on Main Street

The snow clearing crews have done a fantastic job, and have worked practically around the clock. Still, people on Main Street had to get out last Sunday to make their storefronts accessible. They carved narrow pathways along the sidewalk, which were used by people like me who were out for the Chocolate Tour.

The abominable snowman? (Am I the only one who sees a face here?)

Rockport: Bearskin Neck After the Storm

A few Rockport shops and galleries were open on Sunday and thankfully, there was hot coffee to be had at both Bean & Leaf and Brothers’ Brew. Bearskin Neck was pretty beat up, with chunks of asphalt upended, the buildings covered in ice, and debris scattered all over the place. Residents were hard at work cleaning up and were very gracious to those of us who were wandering on a Sunday stroll while they were trying to make their homes and businesses accessible and safe.

Not the best video but you’ll get the point. my poor dog Blaze ran for the door after she almost got blown off the deck.

Nemo carves some snow

My phone froze up and was not accepting finger touches. Maybe my finger didn’t have enough heat. All the wave photos are blown out white. But here is a snap of a backyard drift.  There is a three foot bush sticking out near the bottom. Should have put Rubber Duck in for scale.drift1

Making the Most of Nemo

Took Coconut to play or really “swim” in the snow.

And acted like a little kid jumping into the huge snow drifts (don’t try this at home).

Power of the ocean

Took this picture on Shore Road at low tide, the road is full of rocks, lobster traps, sticks and wood.  The rocks came right across the street.
