Loch Lomond sung for Joe Garland

In this video, gimmesound artist of the week Michael O’Leary sings one of Joe Garland’s favorite songs with Janice Fullman .  This was part of the special tribute to Joe Garland produced by Local Music Seen with Allen Estes that showed on the large screen at the October 1, 2011 ceremony celebrating Joe’s life at I4-C2.  A longer version of this tribute special is in the works and will air on Cape Ann TV once it’s finished.

Great Local Musicians Born on the Same Day!

gimmesound Artist of the week, Michael O’Leary packed the house for the Dog Bar’s re-opening on Sunday.  This video captures some of his truly acoustic music ~ no mics, no amps, “nothing to plug in” as Michael said in yesterday’s video.  Just gorgeous melodies, tight harmonies and a bit of Celtic love.

Did you know that J.B. Amero and Dave Mattacks were born on the same day, same year?  Check them out at Jalapenos tonight and find out what year it was …

Then bop down to Dog Bar for Steve Caraway’s excellent open mic, followed by Rhumb Line for Henley Douglas.  See full music lineup here.

Flying to Ireland? Let Michael O’Leary send you off!

That’s right, folks, gimmesound artist of the week Michael O’Leary will be at Logan Airport this week  serenading travelers to and from Ireland.  Watch the video to find out when.

Michael is one of the only musicians on Cape Ann who routinely performs with no mics, no amps, “nothing to plug in” — just you and his band in a venue with good acoustics.  In this video he describes the appeal of truly acoustic music — the way music was heard for thousands of years.

The Dog Bar reopened last night with more seating for music fans.  This rounds out Gloucester’s West End music scene giving us more music choices all week long.  See full music lineup here.
