Mari Martin tonight @ Dave Sag’s Blues Party 8:30pm to 11:30pm 1.22.2015
Dave says,
Well, I’m a little late this time around due to complications with cosmetic hippocampus surgery, but not to worry, the voices have all gone, like a pile of popcorn by my feet, eaten by unseen pigeons. Also, the lineup hadn’t been solidified till now, so let the nailbiting cease!
Let’s welcome back Ms. Mari Martin and her oversized vocal pipes to our musical carousel of a stage this week. I know, I know, she just played here last Saturday with her rootin-tootin band of musical outlaws, but this time around we’re really mixing it up.

First, throw Mr. Mike DiBari, glitarist deluxe, a veteran ack-ack gunner, into a large pot. Then add the pulsations and random cacklings of that tonsorially-challenged timekeeper; Mr. Steevee Chaggaris. Fold in two quarts of vodka-infused bass by yours truly, then pour in 180 pounds of fatback organisms and keyboard stylings of the prolific Mr. Mark Retallack. Beat well. Strain through a felt hat. Insert large funnel into trepanned hole in skull.Pour. Ahhh…. Honey, I’m home……

Tonight! Greg Luttrell joins The Dave Sag’s Blues Party @ The Rhumb Line. 8:30pm -11:30pm 12.18.2014

It’ll be good to have back Mr. Greg Lutrell this Thursday night. Just back from six months in in China, Greg’s bringing his wok and giving a demonstration on it’s use between sets of excruciatingly endocrining-inducing blues. He plays to die for and sings like an banshee in heat. You’re gonna love it. Our international composition also includes Mr. Benny Benson, our Irish Ace of Pace, on drummps, and your favorite Polish-Italian bassist: me. Ask your doctor if Dave sag’s Blues Party is right for you. Do not attempt to drive or operate heavy machinery whilst under the influence of three chords.
And, by the way, if I don’t see ya: Merry Xmas or Kwanza or seasonings greetings!

Forrest “Frosty” Padgett, drum-dribbler and all-around go to guy handles the boom booms. I’ll be the object of derision. Phew! what a nite!
Sunday, I’ll be re-living the nightmare at O’Reilly’s Bar in Newton. With Chris and a cast of thousands. Call for info.

Lisa Marie This Thursday @ The Dave Sag’s Blues Party 8:30-11:30pm 11.13.2014
It’s gonna be another knuckle-draggin’ night so let’s welcome back one of your all-time favorite singers: Ms. Lisa Marie. She’s comin’ at you with her glass-breaking jewel-encrusted uvula. She rocks, she rolls, she twists, she monkeys to that grisly thump we all think of as our heart, and finds a way to touch us all. Pass the Jameson, please….
And she’s bringing an action- packed riddim section for that pedal to the metal feel. First, there’s Mr. Silvertone Steve, fleet-fingered guitarist and online carbon-dating service entrepreneur for you oldsters.Makes a mockery out of pre-existing conditions. Then there’s Mr. Johnny Juxo, pinky -waggler Xtroidinaire on shoe-bashing keyboards. Sings like an angel. Wears great hats, too. Top it off with with the air-compressor stylings of that hirsutely magnificent drummbler, Mr. Steevee Chaggaris and my unique style of basso offendo and there you have it; a great night! Ask your doctor if the DaveSag Blues Party is right for you.

Dave Sag’s Blues Party to host The Earley Birds @ The Rhumb Line Tonight 8:30-11:30pm 11.6.2014
Get that file out and start sharpening your chainsaw in preparation for the arrival of “The Earley Birdz”. No, not the dentist drill of a saxist, but the other one: the Mississippi saxophonist and graveyard vocalist, the OTHER Mark Earley. A great singer, I have worked occasionally with him and love his vibe and choice of material.

Of course, it doesn’t hurt to drag in that fabulous guitarist : Mr. Larry Sortwell, late of the great band “Grapevine Road”, to whoop it up. And wait’ll you hear his creamy voice, smooth as baby’s feet. Mr. John Cameron, keyboard wizard and my personal food taster, is also making a rare appearance, what with being so busy making toys for xmas in his workshop. Round it out with Mr. John Loud, local boy made good, on eggbeaters, and you have a great night of cool toons. I’m really excited about this. Now, if I could just stop the voices in my head….
