Wagging for Schooners From Al Bezanson
Joey…. Here’s a shot from GREEN DRAGON a couple years ago when BLUENOSE II was still around. Maggie here is savoring the odor of the haddock chowder wafting over from the Canadians’ galley and hoping for a chance to clean their bowls when they come ashore. What happened was that she missed out on the chowder but did manage to grab the skipper’s hot dog when he was on the dock. Hence the invasion of the BLUENOSE ll’s crew. Fortunately we had a good supply of Fishermen’s Brew iced down and were able to calm them.
Maggie was also in attendance at ARDELLE’S launching, and here can be seen interviewing Cooper. You can see Maggie’s blog here… it’s a long thread but scrolling down through it will acquaint you with some of her pals like Effie on Effie.

Beautiful Winter Morning
Home for the Holidays?
Zooey is looking for a temporary home for the Holidays. Can you open up your heart and home to her?
Zooey was found tied outside the pound and quickly became the staff favorite. Her foster family need to be out-of-town from Dec. 9th through Jan. 14 and we are desperately looking for someone to foster this 39 lb cutie during that time so she does not have to be kenneled again. She enjoys playing, car rides, toys and well pretty much anything. But what she enjoys the most is just being by her person/people. She craves soft strokes and eye contact and makes it so easy for you to give both. Everywhere you go people gravitate to her and she is wonderful with all. In her home she can become somewhat protective so a quiet home is best or a home that knows how to manage this behavior.
Simply crating her is a solution and she is crate trained, housetrained and non-destructive. She does not require a lot of exercise but does enjoy her walks. She is good with other dogs if met slowly and properly. She is living with a male pit bull & doing very well- even though she is a bit of a prima-donna. No dogs or cats would be ideal for this temporary home simply so it would be seamless. She enjoys being the center of attention and needs to learn no matter how cute she is that she must share. To fill out an on-line foster app. Please visit www.alldogrescue.org. Note it is for temp. foster of Zooey.

Doggy Beach Days
I am sure all the pups out there are excited to get back on the beaches and play in the waves. Here’s a video from Saturday of my Coconut, catching drift wood, in the tide pools of Wingaersheek.
Unfortunately, she got a big boo boo on her foot yesterday and will not be able to run free on the beaches for at least 2 weeks. The great team at Cape Ann Veterinary Hospital took good care of her, so I am sure she will heal real fast and be back to her old self soon enough.

Beagle on the Beach
Sunny February Sunday!
This young male seal was hanging by the dunes yesterday. Hard to keep the dogs from checking him out. The marine crew put up a sign to stay back, but the dogs….! Anyone know if the seal made it back to the ocean yet?
Annie’s been very sick, but she’s getting better everyday. Fresh air on the beach always helps!

Those two brown dogs were FAST!

How to make Snow Angels
Coconut shows us how to make snow angels (really she just doesn’t like wearing her winter coat). Please excuse my sniffle sounds 🙂
