Fred Buck Writes-
joey –
i’ve been working with dave cox of main street antiques on his personal collection of gloucester negatives. among those are three sets of photos of gloucester fishing boats taken in the 1940s: immaculate conception, launch from montgomery boat yard on ferry st in 1946.; st. christopher, launch from reed brothers in boothbay harbor maine in 1944; and the christening of another boat at fort wharf (?) around the same time.
we need some help from gmg. HELP! if anyone recognizes the folks on deck or the boat or the location, let us know. prize is an 8×10 glossy of your favorite shot.

Doug Silva who has been making some fantastic changes as manager at his father’s Topside Grill invited our posse to fill the newly renovated space with our photos. If you haven’t heard by now from Paul Morrison’s Seasonal Restaurant Openings list, The Topside will be opening April 1st.
We stopped by Saturday morning to drop off our work and I’ll be posting some images of each of our contributors with their pieces all week long. You can check it all out for yourself (and get some great grub) on the 1st at Topside grill.
Vintage postcards acquired at Antique Store on Main Street Gloucester, ower – David Cox.
The original building burned down in 1912, and the current church was built in 1914.
Postcards show the original church and the rebuilt one prior to 1922, the photo shows current view of the church.
