Our pets enrich our lives in more ways than we can count.
In turn, they depend on us for their safety and well-being.
Learn how you can be prepared to protect your pets when disaster strikes.
This 2 hour combination course will discuss the basics of safe small animal handling, basic behavior, how to better "read" animals, the basics regarding pet emergencies and how to recognize if something is wrong. This class will primarily focus on the dog and cat species. Basic first aid for domestic pets will be discussed including CPR and bandaging. Dogs will be on hand for visual demonstration and class members will be able to practice techniques at the end of the class. A must for anyone desiring to work with pets during times of disaster. Participants will leave with a better understanding of animal handling and behavior and how to better protect themselves.
2.0 contact hours available to physicians, nurses, social workers, mental health professionals, certified health officers, sanitarians, pharmacists, and EMT’s.
2 Classes will be held at the Gloucester High School

A group of volunteers, with the endorsement on the City Council and the Fire Department, are forming a Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT) here in Gloucester! I am the Public Information Officer for the Team and would like to know if you would be interested in posting a blurb about our upcoming informational meeting which will be on October 21, and training that will begin on November 1st. We should have our meeting locations nailed down by Wednesday.
