Apparently they have already cast the part of Jo Hopper (1883-1968), depicted sketching here in Gloucester on Good Harbor Beach, in a watercolor portrait by her husband, Edward Hopper (1882-1967),  in the collection of the Whitney Museum.

Role: Edward Hopper, painter, age range, 40 – 55, tall, over 6’2″. Cultured, well-read, sophisticated, stoic, great sense of humor. Looking for experienced actor for two-character play about the famous realist painter Edward Hopper and his wife Jo.

Rehearsals begin August 21, 2017 
and play runs September 6-17, 2017.

I registered at the CBS site – I thought that maybe you had to register to access voting. Normally I wouldn’t register and give up my email to a commercial site like that, but – not only is it a home boy, but how perfect would Jimmy be on Survivor?!

Anyway – I went to the rules and read the fine print. (http://www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor/casting_call/rules.php) A panel of judges picks the 10 finalists from this round, then the general public votes on the final 10, starting on February 22.

We have to wait until Monday to see if he made the Final 10. Good luck, Jimmy!

Attention- Casting Call For Gorton’s Commercial This Saturday!

Gorton’s is pleased to announce that it will be shooting new TV commercials right here in Gloucester next month. In preparation for the shoot, Maura Tighe Casting will be holding an open casting call for extras this Saturday October 17. They’ll be looking for residents of Gloucester and surrounding towns (Rockport, Essex, Manchester by the Sea, etc.) to be extras in the commercials. They’re looking for people of all ages, from kids to older folks to everything in between – Moms and Dads, fishermen, teachers, doctors, chefs, grandpas, you name it! You don’t have to prepare anything or do anything special. Just come by and tell the casting agency a little about yourself and what you love about where you live. (And they’ll put you on tape when you are talking to them so they can remember who you are.) The open casting call is on Saturday October 17 from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Blackburn Performing Arts Center, located at 1 Washington Street (the corner of Main St. and Washington St) in Gloucester. The agency will take a picture of you when you get there, so don’t worry about bringing a picture. Just bring yourself (and a friend if you like). For more information regarding the open casting call, you can email Maura Tighe Casting at info@mauratighe.com. You may also see people from the production company around town over the next month preparing for the shoot and continuing to be on the lookout for potential extras.
