It really is “all about the light”

Cape Ann has amazing light for painters, artists and citizens.  Walking on the Boulevard the other day was beautiful.

Blue umbrellas

Walking Stacy Boulevard on a beautiful summer day, noticed the blue umbrellas at the Beauport Hotel.  Did you also notice the red tent.  So pretty.

Sparkles in Gloucester Harbor

Rick and I went to lunch at the Beauport Hotel the other and sat outside on their beautiful deck.

Don’t Miss Mari Martin and the Lucky Boys at Beauport Hotel

Last chance this Tuesday! Martin is a tremendous vocalist. Their generous, nuanced and memorable sets match up well at beautiful Beauport.

The Bluefin Blowout Raised $366,050 for The Alzheimer’s Association!

$366,050. Knowing how passionate and dedicated they are…and knowing they won’t stop until there’s a cure… I guess I shouldn’t be surprised….but, yet I was. This group….this amazing and determined group….supported, celebrated, and loved by so many generous friends, sponsors, captains/crews, advertisers, and family members…. knocked it completely out of the park.

Last night, gathered at the Beauport Hotel, the Lyon-Waugh Auto Group presented a check to the Alzheimer’s Association.

With their massive efforts and unyielding generosity (both theirs and that of those who support them) they managed to raise a surreal $366,050 during this year’s Bluefin Blowout to help #endalz. That’s more than half a million in just two years alone….not to mention the six previous tournaments! I am forever, completely in awe of what they do and by the support that others give to them. Those who give gather. These people could move mountains.

Rick and my 35th anniversary at Gloucester’s spectacular Beauport Hotel

What can we say about this jewel in Gloucester.  From the time we checked in to the time we checked out, our experience was stellar.  The staff was attentive, polite, pleasant and happy to have us there.  Our room was outstanding with a view that took our breath away with a lovely balcony.  The heated pool and hot tub on the rooftop is incredible.  The staff on the rooftop were always making sure the tables and chairs were clean.  There were plenty of towels and our lunch on the rooftop was delicious.  The pool was so wonderful and very calming.  The conversations on the pool rooftop with other guests were inspiring from newly weds to families.  Also during our fun afternoon on at the pool, the staff came around with free ice cream sandwiches. When we got back to our room there was a box of chocolates with a lovely Anniversary card for Rick and I.  After taking a wonderful shower we went to dinner and had a great meal again with stellar service.  Coming back to room we noticed that the towels were all changed without us having to need to ask for extra towels.  The beautiful sunset at the end of the evening was just what two busy people needed.  After a great night’s sleep we went down to the breakfast buffet and again not disappointed with the food, staff and view.  Visiting the gift shop with Kathy was so nice.  They have great gifts and treasures.  Here is some photos of our time at the Beauport Hotel.  I would like to thank this wonderful hotel and staff for such a wonderful stay.

From the deck of the Beauport Hotel

On Tuesday evening at the Beauport Hotel Art Show, went on the deck around sunset and took some photos.  Since the weather has not been what I would call, sunny and warm, the clouds still give us a show.

Beauport Hotel Art Show

Join us for an evening showcasing local art! Over 50 artists from Cape Ann will be displaying paintings in our Grand Ballroom for purchase. Artist Dan DeLouise will also demonstrate a live painting to be raffled during the event. All raffle proceeds support Pathways for Children. The show is free and open to the public.
