Rising star shines on Gloucester this week

Chelsea Berry introduced us to her good friend and fellow singer/songwriter, Megan Burtt at a house concert last night.  The fact that Chelsea has excellent taste in friends and musicians is proven by Megan.  She and Chelsea rocked the crowd.  We captured much of the concert on video.  Here’s one song and a captivating story.  Watch it and see why we chose this rising star as gimmesound’s Artist of the Week.

One of Allen’s early songs (written during his first batch of 30 songs about 40 years ago), Brandy Jane has become a favorite of many people.

Allen is gimmesound’s Artist of the week and sings this and 3 other wonderful songs on his Local Music Seen special, which premieres Wednesday at 6:30pm on Cape Ann TV Channel 12.

You may remember that Brad Byrd, who was gimmesound’s Artist of the week at the end of January, was up for an award on Melodic.net.  Well he won Singer/Songwriter Album of the year, for his latest album Mental Photograph!

gimmesound Artist of the week: Allen Estes was one of the stars of Celebrate Gloucester 2010 at I4-C2 — and he was joined on stage by Fly Amero in a surprise appearance (Fly originally couldn’t play Celebrate Gloucester due to a scheduling conflict) for one of Allen’s most popular songs, Not With Ya Hands about Gloucester legend Howard Blackburn.

Their inspiring performance was one of the highlights of the festival.  Click on the video and check it out!

Rick Doucette and Zack White preview the family Mardi Gras party starting at noon on Tuesday at Latitude 43 to help raise money for the Y TEENS REBUILD NEW ORLEANS III trip in April.
