Annual Young Poets Competition open to all Gloucester Students now through April 30th
Over the past 20 years, the Sawyer Free Library contest, Poetry without Paper, has celebrated thousands of local students’ outstanding writing while encouraging the community’s youth to use poetry as a means of creative expression. The annual contest is an opportunity for local school children of all ages to showcase their writing and creativity in a supportive environment and win top prizes.
With the competition running throughout March and culminating on the last day of National Poetry Month, April 30, children and teens who live in Gloucester or attend Gloucester schools are encouraged to submit 1-3 original poems on any theme to the Library. Participants can choose to set their poems to video, images, and or music. Each poem may be no longer than 30 lines, be the student’s own work, and previously unpublished and submitted through…

On Thursday March 17th, Cape Ann Auction will host its first Five at 5:00 Antiques & Collectibles Show at 1 Kondelin Rd., Ste. G in Gloucester MA
The event will feature 5 great North Shore pickers who’ll set up with fresh estate finds, antiques & collectibles! The unusual time for this show allows for a relaxed social atmosphere as well as one where awesome bargains abound!
The event starts at 5pm sharp (no early birds) and runs until 8pm. All dealers are required to keep their booths set up until 8pm, so if you can’t make it until the last minute, you can still find some neato treasures! However, we do recommend getting there early if you’d like to scoop the most unusual items!

Current Nia Routine: Beatles

If you are like me, you love to sing along to the Beatles’ music and of course, dance! Here is your chance to have a little dance party with all the music you love, like Hey Jude, Revolution, Lady Madonna and more.
We will take the movements from our latest routine and put them to the fun sounds of the Fab Four (Ringo, John, Paul and George not Harry, Meghan, Kate and William).
Moving to Heal NEW TIME Thursdays at 1:30 PM

Moving to Heal Nia is a slower, less intensive class with less standing and more done in the chair. Great for people with injuries or conditions that make it hard to participate in a classic Nia class. Also good for people getting back into exercise. For more info on Moving to Heal, see the info and videos on my web site or click here

We will be collecting cereal for the Open Door Please Come Join The Studio Audience Tomorrow And Bring Cereal To Donate To Open Door If You Care To.

Julie LaFontaine:
Last year, The Open Door improved the lives and health of 8,516 people from 4,176 households with 1.83M pounds of good food distributed through our programs through 43.7K visits and/or deliveries.
As prices at the gas pump and grocery store climb, The Open Door helps bridge the gap when there is too much month left at the end of the money. Increased pantry usage mirrors what is happening with the economy and the cost of living.
The Open Door has focused on cereal donations this year to give shoppers full choice when they fill their carts. People tend to be extra brand loyal when it comes to cereal, and targeted food collections help stock the cereals that make the breakfast table feel like home. In a world that feels uncertain, finding familiar foods available through the online shopping platform feeds both the body and the soul.
We are grateful to WE Are All In The Together and all the collection partners who are working to make this happen. We thank them and the community that never stops stepping up to help when help is needed. We are truly stronger together.
Guests Kristin Michele will be on hand as well as red hot hockey videographer Bernie Perisie.
Bernie the videographer that’s been featured all over the hockey world and has created these clips-
