Papa Cardinal Taking Care of Business

There’s a small cardinal family frequenting our feeders recently where I have watched the Papa Cardinal feeding 2 young females. These 2 youngsters are always nearby when Papa is around and he makes sure they each get what they need. Reminds me of the Paul Anka song “Papa”: “Everyday my Papa would work/To help to make ends meet/To see that we would eat…”

Some Concerned Citizens were offended enough by the Piping Plover meme hat design enough to protest to the Mayor, certain city councilors, the Superintendant of schools and principal so…

I’d like to thank them for spurring even more sales of the caps.

The charity is now up for grabs and if there is a worthy cause that could use the donation we’d be happy to send it their way since these well heeled folks have deemed that they don’t need our donation. Seeing as they have plenty of dough I’m sure they will come up with a much more sizable donation for the Greg Swinson fitness room to benefit GHS athletes.

It’s nice to know that these people don’t have anything better to protest than a silly piping plover meme but these are the times we live in.

My response:

Buy a cap if you have a smidgen of a sense of humor and can’t stand this elitist bullshit.

Have a nice day and oh by the way, I’m bumping up the percentage of the proceeds from 5% to 20%.

With all the money these elitists have rolling around they should be able to bury my donation.

Win for the fitness room and win for whatever other charity wants to claim it

Have a nice day.

Joey

About Windhover

For more than 50 years. Windhover has served the community as a place to learn, perform, and share the beauty of dance and the related arts in a natural setting.

In 1967, modern dancer Ina Hahn and her husband Herb Hahn purchased the last farm in Pigeon Cove, a small village near Rockport, Massachusetts, and created Windhover. In less than a year, Herb Hahn converted the farm’s barn into a dance studio, the stable into a library, out-buildings into dormitories and the main house into a dining-kitchen complex. In 1968, Windhover opened as a performing arts camp for girls, drawing students from the US, Canada, and Mexico. New buildings included a chapel/theater, a second dance studio, and an outdoor stage.

In 1983 Windhover became a 501(c) (3) non-profit foundation that offered dance classes, teen dance intensives, residencies and performances in all of the performing arts to the Cape Ann Community and beyond. In 2016,  Lisa Hahn became Executive Director of Windhover and is ushering in a new era with more performances, classes and retreats than ever before, Windhover is reaching out to collaborate with other groups, hold spiritual retreats and meditative events, and host conversations of topics of interest to the community.Dance. Theater and Music remain the focus.
