Barred Owl Celebrity

We have been fortunate enough to see a barred owl at a nature area a couple of times recently. And, since Scottie is always asking about my bird sightings, I’ll dedicate this one to him! Here you go Scottie. This one’s for you. “Barred from the Nest?” is Scottie’s question!! HAHA PS I am deliberately not disclosing its location at it has become a bit of an issue with interested onlookers disturbing the wildlife.

Just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that we are hosting our first, in-person event in the bookstore post-Covid on February 20th.

Colin Rhodes is a professor of art history, and author of several books on Primitivism and Outsider Art, and he will be joining us to introduce his new book on Gloucester artist Jon Sarkin. I’m sure you all know Jon’s story and his instantly recognizable work.

We would love to see you there, and would appreciate you passing this along to anyone that we may have missed (our event-promoting skills have gotten a little rusty).

Natalia is a talented Ukrainian artist and designer- who owns Detali, a pop up shop, selling artist-made goods from Ukraine. Please stop by! Shop hours are Wednesday -Sunday 11am – 6pm. The Shop is another great way to support the Ukraine.


The Ukrainian Shop will be open late with Light Refreshments and a wonderful atmosphere.
Detali is also sponsoring a fundraiser to Welcome a Ukrainian Choreographer and Physical Trainer to Gloucester.
