Annual Annisquam Furniture Sale

Sharing news from Masshole Biscuit Company on Main Street. We wish them well.

I wanted to share my new music project with you, in case you haven’t seen it on Facebook yet: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61591310369925
For the past seven months, people have been asking what I’ve been up to. I have been recording some songs I wrote before taking office, as the job didn’t allow much time for playing music.
My project, The Zoo Theory, officially launched last week with the release of our debut single, “Big Talk,” which is now available on all streaming platforms. I have attached the MP3 and the cover art to this email.
Here is our official bio for reference:
Headed by former Mayor of Gloucester Greg Verga, The Zoo Theory is an evolving studio recording project and collaborative collective. Operating as a bridge between a home setup in West Gloucester and an undisclosed studio in the Rocky Mountains, the project acts as a creative canvas for a rotating lineup of exceptional independent artists.
On their debut single, “Big Talk,” The Zoo Theory delivers a massive dose of retro energy inspired by the classic 80s new wave sound. Built on a foundation of driving basslines, layered vintage synths, and crisp 6 and 12-string guitars tracked by Verga, the song features a standout, commanding lead vocal performance from guest artist Aspen Ridge and a powerhouse guitar solo by Geoff Small.
With a production assist from co-producer Johan Doe, “Big Talk” is a driving, nostalgic track that sounds like a lost tape from vinyl’s golden era—while setting the stage for an upcoming slate of genre-bending original music.
Best,
Greg Verga

Donna A was not the only contributor to ride into Boston for a harbor cruise this week to celebrate Sail Boston! Great minds and all that. GMG Jim and I had booked a City Cruise Boston tour before we knew any local vessels were doing the same. These tickets were non-refundable (take note in case you do the same) so off we went even though we do have another trip scheduled with Cape Ann Whale Watch. Anyhow, we are very happy we took that cruise which included narration and sea shanties. I was not expecting to see so many ships!! The narrator estimated 50 and I feel like we saw many of them though most were docked. So many nations are represented out there that it felt a little bit like the UN had decided to move themselves to Boston Harbor. It was our first Tall Ships experience but I am hoping it won’t be our last. You should see some of our local favorites here. During the narration, attention was paid to our Essex schooners and Harold Burnham (who happened to be sailing on the Ardelle right behind us) so that was a proud moment! Hopefully more images coming in a day or so from our trip on Hurricane II.

I have been meaning to share this absolutely stunning photo from Barbara Hoag Sullivan (with her permission) for some time now. She took this photo several weeks ago and I feel in love with it immediately. She shared it recently on the wonderful “I Love Gloucester” facebook page as well. How blessed are we to have views like this at our doorsteps. No filters here….just simple beauty on a foggy day.

The Lobster Crate Race is adding a new component : Boat Decoration Contest! I think this is a great idea. For a $50 donation to the Lily Jean fund, you can enter. For anyone interested but financially unable to donate, Pat D’s Photos will sponsor a contestant. Please reach out in the comments or message me directly regarding sponsorship.
