Creature Quiz From Al Bezanson

Joey___

The day after Kim Smith’s movie, just a couple blocks from the cinema, in the searing noonday sun, a squad of these were scurrying toward the east along the Rogers Street sidewalk behind Cape Ann Savings.  They were about two inches long.  The questions for your readers are, who were they, where might they have come from, where were they going, and why?

This was my first shot with this new lens.  There is a Sony E-Mount and a Micro Four Thirds version, $239.

Vincent Ferrini Centenary post game show

Henry Ferrini writes-

Joey,
The Gloucester Writers Center Gala was a huge success.  The evening festivities began with “Bites on the Dock” at Maritime Gloucester. Over 250 people gathered as the sun set and the moon rose over the harbor to dine on oysters, chowder, and a wonderful array of gourmet bites, all donated by North Shore restaurants and caterers. In the words of Vincent Ferrini “conviviality was taken to another sphere”! The Poet’s Cabaret,  MCed  old friend  Michael McNamara and  M. Lynda Robinson, the hour Cabaret showcased the new Ferrini book “Incredible Dancer” and the talents of some of Cape Ann’s most loved players who sang, danced, and recited the newly published verse of Ferrini.

It was an unforgettable and poignant evening with the three year old Gloucester Writers Center raising over $23,000.

It’s time for Joe Wilkins

JoeWilkins
Joe Wilkins on the Local Music Seen set

OK, if you haven’t heard Joe Wilkins, it’s time.  Don’t let his pleasant, unassuming personality fool you.  This guy is a powerhouse talent, whose songs paint vivid pictures in your head, so you might not notice just how good he is on guitar.  You can see him on Local Music Seen with Allen Estes tomorrow (WED) at 6:30pm on Cape Ann TV Channel 12.  Then bop over to Giuseppe’s and catch him live with Chris Langathianos.

If you miss tomorrow, you can see him with Joe Cardoza on bass and Leo Ciamitaro on drums at Dog Bar for a Fiesta Friday party.  And if you’re in the mood for something more quiet, catch solo him at The Landing on Saturday.  See full live music schedule here.

Listen to this from Local Music Seen:

Watch what happens at 1:16 in this video and you’ll get why he’s a pro.  See more Joe Wilkins videos here.

Come Monday morning, there’s simply no excuse for not knowing who this rising star is.  Before you know it Joe Wilkins will be on tour in Europe or Asia and you’ll have missed your chance to see him in an intimate venue serving good food in your own back yard FOR FREE!

Wednesday with Fly Amero @ The Rhumb Line ~ Special guest: Inge Berge

Surf & Turf Specials!
Wednesdays Only!

Hello everyone!
Wednesday, June 26th
Special Guest:
INGE BERGE!

Inge Berge
is more than a good songwriter.  He’s a poet –
in the true sense of the word, for he writes with honesty and
courage… and with little consideration for consequence.  I’ll
always admire him greatly for it, knowing only too well how
easy it is for us all to follow the path of least resistance as
artists.  What he does takes guts, and I hope I’m not the
only one who notices.  Meanwhile, Buona Fiesta! ~ Fly 🙂
Dinner with Fly Amero: 8 – 11pm
*Each week features a special, invited musical guest
Dave Trooper’s Kitchen…
Surf & Turf Dinner –

Tenderloin Tips with Grilled Garlic Shrimp!
Prepared fresh weekly by “Troop”… always good!
Upcoming…
July 3: Horribles Parade (best seen at the Rhumb Line)

July 10: Jon Butcher (w/Chris Pierce)

July 17: Allen Estes

Looking forward…
…to seeing you there!  🙂 ~ Fly
