Punta Arenas and Torres del Paine N.P.

We disembarked from Via Australis at Punta Arenas overlooking the Straits of Magellan, explored the town and then proceeded by bus to Puerto Natales. The next morning we began our two day exploration of Torres del Paine National Park, one of the most remote and beautiful places I can imagine.

year than with our very special musical guest this week…
Fozzie Hill, one of the Rhumb Line’s all-time favorites! My
suggestion would be to come early – it’s quite possible she
(upon her own request) could be starting off the night at
8pm. ~ Fly

Rick and Alec Razdan join The Dave Sags Blues Party @ The Rhumb Line 8:30 to 11:30 January 8, 2015

Dave says,

Time to make the doughnuts. So welcome back that fabulous father/son combo plate of Rick and Alec Razdan. Two of the best known local musicians I’ve had the pleasure to work with. With their armada of saxophones and clarinets, lord knows what could happen. But by the process of random selection, i’m sure all your prayers will be answered. They’re dragging in their musical brethren from the A-Train Orchestra, namely Mr. Dan Whalen, on gritar, and David “Doc” Vincent, on drums to add to the confusion. We’re back to our 8:30 start, so c’mon down and have a ball!

Standing Up for Gloucester

Mayor Carolyn Kirk farewell -6 ©Kim Smith 2015.Thank you Mayor Kirk for casting your visionary net far and wide over the Gloucester community these past seven years.

Kirk Family ©Kim Smith 2015I think I speak for many in wishing Carolyn congratulations on her new job with the Baker administration. We in Gloucester are so fortunate to have been the beneficiary of the gifts and inspiration she has brought to our community. The new Massachusetts Governor’s administration is so fortunate to have Carolyn on their team. We wish the Kirk Family all the very best!

Nobody is More Surprised Than Me!

After whining to you all and my physical therapist, I didn’t feel half bad this morning. I asked my PT to take it easy with me, because I had muscle pain for the past 5 days. I rode the bicycle and did some side stepping. She asked me to try “free-walking” down the hallway without holding onto anything. It came easily, and I sauntered 120 feet with no sweat. She was very surprised. Last September, four months ago, I struggled to walk 20 feet.
