My View of Life on the Dock

looking back towards Lobsta Land

Good Morning kids:
Hope everyone is doing well. Our clean up on Saturday will depend on the weather and wind conditions.
Where: Main Street starting near Tonno’s
Time: 08:00
When: Saturday, December 17, 2016
Please bring gloves and any pickers you may have.
Yesterday I cleaned in front of Brown’s Mall. It was a mess and hopefully we can do something to contact the landlord to keep it clean.
I would like to keep a list of stores on Main Street that seem not to care what the front of the stores look like.
Thanks peeps..
Donna

Dave says,
Everybody keeps asking me: when ya gonna bring back that guy, you know, big as a bear with designer overalls and a voice that could shatter diamonds? Or your sub-human desires. What? Who are you?
But seriously, folks; we got him this week. i’m talking about Mr. Brian Templeton, a great songwriter and foghorn, who commands your presence. His incisive toons and heady interpretations of classic gems is sure to explode the elastic in your BVD’s. He’s one of my go to guys when the goin’ gets rough, like my shrimp Po-boy- induced acne that needs some lovin’.

Helping out on the guitar will be Mr. Billy Loosigian, celebrity pet stylist and New Hampshire’s answer to Jimmy Page. Been in every Boston band in the world since 1975.Mr. David Mattacks, the Atomic Clock, will add his cesium and desist order to the proceedings. I’m bringing my big-ass tube amp, just to show ya. Do not miss this.

We’ll start by decorating some delicious gingerbread farmers and cows with a variety of candy and homemade icing. After our creations are complete we’ll snuggle in for some entertaining gingerbread facts and read Hansel & Gretel, the story which spurred the popularity of gingerbread houses. It’s time to take inventory on what and/or who you no longer need in your life…
I’m not a fan of Keurig coffee makers. We use one currently at the house only because it’s what’s there, but honestly, there’s not one K-cup that I’d say I was crazy about.
We’re looking for a new coffee maker for the house that may or may not be a Christmas present for someone ;).
What do you guys recommend?
Leave me a comment on this post on a coffee maker that you love and I’ll list them out and research them.
Right now Gizmodo highly recommends the Bonavita BV1800 8-Cup Coffee Maker
It looks nice and gets good reviews and I’m leaning this way but am curious what my awesome readers have to say.

Another “Babson Boulder?”..
Came across this plaque in a spot that hundreds of people go by every day but probably never notice. Been going by there myself for six years and never noticed until I walked by with the leaves off the trees.

Bravo and huge shout out to Mayor Romeo Theken, Chef Anthony, the Tonno staff, and all the volunteers who contributed to today’s successful sauce cook off charity luncheon. Held at Tonno (Anthony donated his restaurant and the Tonno staff volunteered their time), the event raised money to benefit three families with a member undergoing cancer treatment at Addison Gilbert Hospital. The families will each receive $500.00. The additional monies raised are going to the oncology department at AGH. A wonderful time was had by all, especially the Chefs, Mayor Sefatia and Anthony Caturano.
The event was inspired by Chef Anthony (erroneously) referring to sugo as gravy. War was declared and a sugo cookoff to benefit charity was decided upon. See Mayor Sefatia explaining Gloucester-acceptable terms for sauce (practically anything but gravy) 🙂
This afternoon I stopped by to say hello to Traci as she was finishing up the installation of her exquisitely beautiful paintings for her one night show at the Hive. Traci’s Dockside work is wonderfully vibrant, striking really, with a tremendous sense of authenticity and a masterly use of color and bold strokes. DON’T MISS THIS EXHIBIT!
The event is family friendly and refreshments will be served. The show is from 6 to 9 on Thursday night at the Hive, 11 Pleasant Street, Gloucester.
Ave Maria may not strike some as season appropriate, but I have them both on my Christmas play list. I love the Schubert Ave Maria and Barbara Bonney’s is the most beautiful ever recorded. Sadly, her recording is often mistakenly attributed to Maria Callas (look on youtube for yourself). Two extraordinarily beautiful and uniquely different voices, its difficult to understand the erroneous attribution.
Sometime I just want to do some exploring and take little side streets to see what I can find. Went behind Lobsta Land and the view of the Annisquam at low tide is beautiful.
