My View of Life on the Dock
Walking down on the footbridge last night and came upon the Natti Family celebrating their daughters wedding. It was a chilly night but lots of people were out for a crisp walk with kids and dogs in tow! I love when this bridge is lit up and took advantage of the early light to grab some shots. Hope everyone gets to enjoy one more day off today, I know I will be!!
I’ve been on vacation for over two weeks…and have been fortunate enough to catch up with a variety of friends on a variety of evenings for holiday cheer and good times. This video may or may not sum up my interaction with bartenders (minus the pregnant part) as I can’t seem to come up with a “go to” cocktail.
Friends of mine happen to own both the Improv Asylum, on Hanover Street in Boston, and Laugh Boston, in the Seaport District. Both venues are fantastic for a great night out and some pretty serious laughs! If you haven’t been….you really should!
Matt Catanzano has preformed at Improv Asylum for years and is now part of the hysterical duo of Simply Unemployable. This, “Holiday Bartender,” is their newest video. And I laughed…and laughed.

Not the prettiest of sunsets, though not bad for a chilly January first morning. Initially it looked to be a bust, but the clouds parted a bit and the sun shone brightly through. Happy New Year wishes. I hope the coming year brings you much love, joy, happiness, and peace ❤

Whatever brings you there– artist, subject, sculpture, setting, history –its surplus of qualities alone and together reward gaze and inquiry. I took several photographs early December 30th, careful compositions against a gift of blues and vault of morning sky. For this one, I roughly edited out the telephone wires for my thoughts. Shake off 2016 and frame up a fresh start for the year ahead!

Every New Year we think about what we are going to do less of…drink less, eat less, be less lazy. This year I’m all about MORE! I’m ready for MORE positivity, MORE adventures, MORE sunrises and sunsets, MORE laughter, MORE fun, MORE patience, MORE gratitude and just living life MORE. So my wish to everyone for 2017 is MORE!

Across the street a favorite spot with more public art and large crowds– the ever stunning Boston Public Library. An art post for another day: for now some interior details. Here are a Kitson marble bust of Longfellow and a tease detail from the Sargent murals. (My sons said they like the Sawyer Free teen room more but this Boston Library was something to be proud of, too.)
My 8 year old granddaughter presented me with a little booklet she entitled “A Gift of Poetry” which contains 7 of her original poems. Shanti is a voracious reader and a talented writer. She keeps a detailed journal and loves to listen to, write and tell stories. More than anything, she loves the idea of family.
Here’s one of her poems.
As most know I love taking the sunsets over Magnolia Harbor. The other night it was so clear you can name the buildings of Boston’s skyline. Happy New Year
